Bernardo-Wills Architects promoted Robert Pace to principal. Pace joined the firm in 1994 and became an associate principal in 1999. In 2004, Pace was the first architect at the firm to attain LEED accreditation. Pace’s past projects include Concourse C expansion at Spokane International Airport, Grant County Advanced Technology Education Center at Big Bend Community College and Riverwalk Point in Spokane. Pace joins founding partners Robert Wills and Gary Bernardo as principals.
Triad Associates promoted Erich Hiersche and Rhonda Howard to associates. Hiersche joined the company as an intern in 1999. He returned to Triad as a field crew member in 2004 and was promoted to party chief in 2005. He is working on the Second and Broad project and surveying for Lake Union boathouses at Ward’s Cove. Howard will celebrate seven years with Triad next month. In her role as print room coordinator, Howard enjoys learning about new technology and equipment. About 50 percent of the firm’s employees are associates.
Hargis Engineers promoted Robert Smith to principal, Ronald Eliason and Erik Stearns to associate principals, and Brady Bell, Brendon Inman, Joshua Robischon, Michael Roberts, Patrick Shannon, and Thomas Neely to senior associates. A new team of associates is also joining Hargis’ leadership team: Charles Comstock, Greg Red, Kirk Petersen, Linda Burman, Matthew Strain, Niels Fallisgaard, Paul Robaidek, Paul Thomas, Reid Herron and Stephanie Anderson.
Mayer/Reed hired Tanya Boyer as marketing director. Boyer has 14 years of experience in architecture, engineering and construction marketing. Boyer previously served as marketing director and a senior associate at David Evans and Associates. She led a seven-person team as well as strategic planning and business development for 19 offices during her eight-year tenure. Most recently, she was self-employed as a marketing and communications consultant.
Cierra Electrical Group promoted Jeff Losnegard to principal. Losnegard has more than 30 years of electrical and lighting design experience, and specializes in design for health care. Losnegard recently designed lighting for the pedestrian bridge at the Museum of Flight, Valley Medical Center Emergency Services Tower, University Place Library and UW’s Savery Hall. The firm also promoted John Benson to senior project manager. With 25 years of project management and design experience, Benson’s recent projects include the Museum of Flight Pedestrian Bridge, Angel of the Winds Casino Expansion for the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians in Arlington, and Auburn Fire Station No. 33. The firm also promoted Jay Tilley to senior designer. With nine years of experience, Tilley works in both electrical design and lighting design. K.C. Schwartzkoph in its Portland office. Gifford has experience in sales and marketing. Schwartzkoph is a registered civil engineer with more than seven years of experience in design, production of construction documents, surveying and project management.
Triad Associates promoted
Thomas P. Matt to senior project engineer. Matt joined Triad's engineering team 3-1/2 years ago and has 16 years of experience, specializing in commercial and residential site development engineering.
Keir Vondruska joined Magellan Architects as a project architect. He has 12 years of experience and is working on two projects for the Lake Washington School District: a 6,500-square-foot tenant improvement for the support services offices and a renovation at BEST High School. He is also project architect for Puget Sound Energy's Factoria Service Center, a 36,000-square-foot office and vehicle service facility targeting LEED silver.
David Leibbrandt was named president of Murray, Smith & Associates. Leibbrandt joined the firm in 1985, and has served as senior vice president since 1996. He has overseen water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation projects for municipalities and public agencies and has worked on international professional exchanges focused on public drinking water systems. Leibbrandt replaces firm co-founder Philip Smith, who served as president since 1996. The firm also promoted
Thomas Lindberg to shareholder and associate. Lindberg, previously president of Flowater Engineering, is a water system engineering specialist and has served municipal clients in Washington for the past 19 years. Lindberg joined the firm in 2006, assuming project management and strategic business responsibilities for its Northwest Washington service area.
KPFF promoted
Amie Sullivan to associate. Sullivan came to KPFF in 2005 and has served as project manager on high-end residential and resorts. Projects have included Roche Harbor Hotel, Tumble Creek Golf Facilities, Harbour Island Estate, Aspen Mountain Lodge Estate and Jackson Hole Snake River Sporting Club.
Sparling promoted five people to associates:
Chris Haas, Kelly Mamer, Mark Peckover, Lee Swanson and
Gayla Murillo. Haas joined Sparling two years ago as an electrical project manager. He specializes in commercial, corporate campus and research facility projects. Mamer came to Sparling's Seattle location in 2004 as an electrical engineering project manager. He transferred to the firm's San Diego office when it opened in September. Mamer is working on projects in health care, retail, academic and research markets throughout the West. Peckover is an electrical engineering project manager in the Portland office. He joined the firm in 2006 and is working on projects for Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville, St. Charles Medical Center in Bend and George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego. Swanson joined the firm in 2000. He specializes in health care projects and has managed more than 100 projects, including those at Virginia Mason Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center. Murillo joined Sparling in 2002. As controller and accounting manager, Murillo leads a staff of five accounting specialists and oversees the firm's accounting practices and controls. She has more than 20 years of experience.
