LMN Architects promoted three people to principals and two to associates.
Jennifer Hing, Howard Howlett and
Kristy Kimura were promoted to principals. Hing is project designer for the Washington State University Applied Technology Center in Vancouver and the Washington Technology Center. Howlett has been with the company since 1996. He is the project manager for 1823 Terry Residential Tower, a 37-story, mixed-use building with 330 apartments. Kimura is director of business development. She oversees marketing and new business strategy to successfully build and maintain LMN’s presence.
Roger Wallace and
Pamela Artison were also promoted to associates. Wallace has 30 years of architectural experience, 13 spent running his own firm. He is the project manager for the 1101 Dexter Office Building in South Lake Union. Artison works in human resources to support staff with employee benefits, payroll, and hiring coordination. She is the company’s King County United Way Coordinator and was instrumental in earning LMN the United Way’s Spirit of Caring Award, presented earlier this year to recognize the firm’s consistent level of giving over the past five years.
Wood Harbinger promoted four employees to associates:
Mike Lehner, fire protection engineer;
Don Renbarger, senior electrical designer;
Mohammed Haq, mechanical engineer; and
Mark Bloedel, CAD/IT manager. Lehner has more than 15 years of experience designing fire suppression systems for governmental, commercial, institutional and medical facilities. Renbarger has more than 40 years of experience in construction, primarily focusing on electrical systems design, construction administration, and project management of educational, commercial, medical and institutional facilities. Haq has seven years of experience providing mechanical design services for new and renovated facilities. Bloedel has more than 21 years of experience with both board and AutoCAD drafting. He is coordinating the company’s move toward Building Information Modeling and using AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.
Lane Coburn & Associates hired
Bill Waldrop as an associate and senior electrical designer in its Woodinville office. Waldrop has 30 years of experience working for electrical engineering consulting firms in the Seattle metropolitan area. His past projects include several Whole Foods locations in California, the Amgen Bio-Technology Facility and the Museum of Flight expansion.

PCS Structural Solutions’ Seattle and Tacoma offices promoted six project engineers to project managers and hired six new employees. Promoted engineers are
Jason Collins, project manager for the Seattle University Fitness Center;
Bob Copeland, providing structural design for Auburn Fire Station No. 33;
Derry Evanger, who recently completed work on Great Wolf Lodge;
Luke Heath, completing a fourth new elementary school for Highline School District;
Wes Neeley, working on Garfield High School and Lakewood Police Station; and
Ted Ryan, working on the Martin J. Neeb Broadcast Center for KPLU. The firm hired five new design engineers:
Loren Ross, Michael Niehl, Julie Chappel, Jon Padvorak and
Nels Peterson. The firm also hired
Travis Brotherson as a drafter.
Art Anderson Associates hired three new employees.
Dan Looney is a mechanical engineer and project manager. Looney is a retired U.S. Navy Captain with more than 27 years of service.
Desirée Vaughn was hired as an entry-level mechanical engineer. Vaughn is a recent graduate who completed a number of projects related to her degree, including designing a heat exchanger, a science payload for a small satellite and a dynamometer.
Russell Jones is a naval architecture intern. Jones has more than 15 years of experience in the marine industry.
ZZA-Terracon hired four new employees in its Bellevue office. Kristina Weller holds dual positions as office manager and geotechnical engineer. Weller has more than 16 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and earthwork in the Seattle area. Scot Wise has joined the staff as a project manager. Wise has worked for geotechnical firms in Spokane and Bellevue. He will set up ZZA-Terracon’s new CMT laboratory and develop client relationships to support a growing Bellevue office. Brendan Perkins joins the firm as senior field technician. His areas of expertise include nuclear densometer testing, geotechnical construction observation and logistical field support. Stephanie Poarch was hired as a corporate service representative in Bellevue. She has a background in technical writing.
DLR Group hired Jason Tornquist as a structural designer. Tornquist is a recent graduate and will be working on a variety of projects.
BCRA hired Timothy Haddick as senior project manager, Scott Wood as senior building science consultant and Cathy McKay as marketing coordinator. Haddick comes to BCRA from the Federal Aviation Administration, where he worked on projects for Sea-Tac Airport, Bellingham International Airport, Paine Field, Olympia Regional Airport and Great Falls International Airport in Montana. He works in retail and military markets. An instructor for the Building Science Institute, Wood has certification in Infrared Building Science Applications and is a certified Level II thermographer. He is working on state, banking and retail projects. McKay has nine years of experience, and was previously with Brown & Caldwell and Parametrix.
