SRG Partnership hired
Jay Shoemaker as principal in its Portland office. Shoemaker has 33 years of experience and for 13 years was a principal at CUH2A, where he managed life science projects for Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb and Biogen. His past projects include the University of Connecticut's science complex and medical research center, and NY Public Health's Wadsworth Facility.
EHS Design promoted
Gary Mueller to director. Mueller has worked at the firm for 21 years, providing space planning, interior design, construction management and move management services. Mueller joins five other directors in managing project fulfillment, client satisfaction, business development and company operations at the firm.
Scott Lathen, engineer-in-training, transferred from GeoEngineers' Seattle office to its Spokane office as an environmental staff engineer.
Säzän Group, a Seattle mechanical and electrical engineering firm, hired
David de Yarza to lead its AutoCAD department and 3D design/drafting efforts. De Yarza has 18 years of AutoCAD experience and more than 10 years of experience in BIM/CAD for architecture, construction and real estate. He will provide IT support, BIM/CAD training and production and customize software. He most recently was CAD manager at Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects.
PAE Consulting Engineers promoted
Brad Wilson and
Scott Bevan to associates. A mechanical engineer, Wilson designs systems for heating and cooling. His past projects include the Bend Parks & Recreation administration building, the Nike Child Development Center in Beaverton, Aspira Tower and the new headquarters for Port of Portland. Wilson has been with PAE for six years. An electrical engineer, Bevan designs systems for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency power and mechanical equipment control. His past projects include Washington School for the Deaf in Vancouver, the University of Washington Tacoma master plan and Butte Heritage Center in Butte, Mont.
Golder Associates hired Julie Villenueve as a water resource engineer in its Redmond office, and Max Birdwell as a field technician in its Coeur d'Alene office. Villenueve specializes in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain analysis, drainage plans, erosion and sediment control, and watershed modeling. Birdwell specializes in water quality studies.

Dan Kurtz to senior associate. Kurtz has been with the health care group for seven years. His experience includes projects at Spokane’s Deaconess Medical Center, Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Spokane, and Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene. The firm also promoted five employees to associates:
Gary Braun, David Elms, Frances Gooding, Ryan Palmquist and
Gordon Pigott . Braun has 27 years of experience and specializes in health care projects. Past projects include the Group Health Bellevue Medical Center, projects for Highline Medical Center in Burien and Cavelero Mid High School in Lake Stevens. Elms has been with the firm for 16 years. His most recent projects are the Acute Care addition and remodel for Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, and tenant improvements at Spokane’s Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories. Since joining the firm in 2007, Gooding has focused on the Lakes High School replacement in Lakewood. Palmquist has been with the firm for five years and is working on NAC|Architecture’s office addition in Spokane, the Kootenai Medical Center Women’s and Children’s Center in Coeur d’Alene, and Whitworth University’s new East Residence Hall. Pigott, network administrator, installs, supports and maintains NAC|Architecture’s servers and other computer systems.
