Parametrix

Bucich
Parametrix hired Paul Bucich as a senior consultant. Bucich has more than 22 years of experience and will be working primarily in the SR 520 project office. He will work on permitting and compliance strategies for surface water, through multiple jurisdictions, state and federal agencies and tribes. Bucich will also work on stormwater design for all projects within the SR 520 program boundaries. Bucich was the city of Federal Way surface water utility manager for eight years.

Berger/Abam Engineers

Mjelde
Berger/Abam Engineers hired Brett Ozolin, Jon Mjelde and Garth Nelson in its Federal Way office and Mandana Ashti in its Seattle office. Ozolin has engineering experience with waterfront and marine facilities projects, roadway construction, and design and transportation modeling. Ozolin recently completed work on a terminal upgrade feasibility study for the Port of Houston Authority. Mjelde's engineering experience includes waterfront projects that involve preliminary designs of sheet pile walls and modern navigation channels. He is working on the Washington United Terminal 600-foot expansion of the Blair Waterway wharf RO/RO facility improvement project at the Port of Tacoma. Nelson's engineering experience includes waterfront projects that involve preliminary analysis and design. Nelson is also working on the Blair Waterway expansion. Ashti has experience in civil and structural engineering and specializes in bridge structures and member design and cost estimation of structures and superstructures. Ashti has worked on the Lincoln Avenue grade separation, a roadway widening, realignment, and grade separation project for the Port of Tacoma; and is working on the East Marginal Way grade separation for the Port of Seattle.

Rushing

Fleetwood
Rushing appointed Julaine Fleetwood to the new role of director of marketing and client services. Fleetwood has nearly 20 years of experience providing marketing and management services for the engineering and construction industry. Fleetwood will identify strategic new business opportunities for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm, which recently merged with sustainability consulting firm, Blackbird Consulting (now Blackbird Studio).

R.W. Beck

Jack Bjork, a senior project manager at R. W. Beck, was recently named a diplomate, water resources engineer of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, a subsidiary of the American Society of Civil Engineers. About 400 water resources engineers worldwide have qualified for the credential. Bjork has 32 years of experience specializing in water resources. Bjork was the project manager for the Idylwood Creek restoration project, which won the Outstanding Water Resources project for 2002 from the Seattle section of the ASCE.
