PCS Structural Solutions

PCS Structural Solutions hired Michael Chamberlain as a project manager. Chamberlain has 10 years of experience on residential, commercial and educational projects. He is working on the University of Washington Tacoma Phase 3 expansion, along with the Northwest Career and Technical Academy.

Mayer/Reed

Mayer/Reed’s landscape architecture group hired Jon Dykhuizen as landscape designer and project manager. Dykhuizen will work on the Tri-Cities Research District master plan and visioning report, a campus master plan for Washington State University in Richland and the Oregon Convention Center. His prior experience includes landscape architecture and project management with firms in Charlottesville, Va., Mill Valley, Calif., and Portland.

Rushing

Rushing hired Craig Gagner, Hollis Heron and Shawn Gavras. Gagner was hired as senior mechanical engineer and commissioning agent. He has 34 years of experience and is working on commissioning services for Children’s Hospital’s new Life Sciences Research Center and the Escala multi-use high-rise project, and Energy Star evaluations for the Continental Plaza and Olympic Block projects. Heron, a senior electrical engineer with 19 years of experience, specializes in the design of complex infrastructures. Heron will manage mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrades at the Pike Place Market. Gavras is a senior mechanical engineer with expertise in consulting engineering and construction. He is working on the new Yale Office Campus, the mixed-use complex Avalon Bay Ballard, and MDS Pharma lab/research facility in Bothell.

DKA

DKA hired Robert Temples as head of its interior design department. Temples has more than 30 years of interior design expertise in project management, programming, planning, design development, contract documents and construction administration of both commercial and residential design.

SkB Architects

SkB Architects promoted Steve Olson to principal and hired Jonathan Rader as a senior project architect. Olson will serve as a studio manager, overseeing project managers, and will also be involved in staffing project strategies. Olson has been with SkB for six years and recently worked on the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center in Bellevue and the offices of Fenwick & West and Methodology in Seattle. Rader has 21 years of experience as an architect and designer. His responsibilities include project management, marketing and design. Rader has worked on the design of Allied Trades on the South Seattle Community College Vocational Campus and Seattle Mental Health

SRG Partnership

Haskell
SRG Partnership hired Dennis Haskell, FAIA, as principal in its Seattle office. Haskell, formerly senior supervising architect at Parsons Brinckerhoff, has extensive experience on large-scale, mixed-use development, most notably on transportation and waterfront projects. He also has a background in site planning and urban design, and 40 years of experience. Most recently, he was the architecture lead for the Honolulu High Capacity Transit Corridor project, managing conceptual design of 28 passenger stations for a new rail transit system. He is also the upcoming chair of the State Capitol Campus Design Advisory Committee.

SCS Engineers

Helland
SCS Engineers hired former employee Gregory D. Helland as vice president and office director of SCS's Northwest operations and lead projects for government and private clients. Helland is a licensed hydrogeologist with more than 25 years of technical, business management and international experience. He served as the Pacific Northwest district manager for a large national consulting firm for the past two years. Before that he worked for SCS for 20 years in various positions including vice president, environmental services group leader and project director/manager.

HWA GeoSciences added five new people. David Maloney was hired as geotechnical engineer. Maloney has five years of experience. He is working on the foundation design of a pile-supported pier and an emergency culvert repair. Ashley Crane was hired as laboratory technician. Crane is working on internal projects and with clients that need specialized testing. Alix Rackleff, Jessica Herrera and Eric Worth were hired as field inspectors. Rackleff has five years of experience and performs quality control inspection and materials testing services for roadways, bridges, and sewer and water pipelines. She worked on the first phase of the Everett Riverfront Development. Herrera performs nuclear density testing on soils and asphalt, concrete acceptance testing for structural concrete and epoxy anchor inspections. Her recent projects include the Everett Riverfront, Olympic View Drive in Lynnwood, and parks for Bothell and Edmonds. Worth has experience in projects with both public and private sector clients. Geotechnical Engineer George Minassian also recently became a PE. He specializes in pavement design and testing.

Farallon Consulting

Farallon Consulting hired Shane C. Broesder as associate chemical engineer. Broesder has six years of experience, including engineering evaluation, planning, design, construction management, oversight and inspection. He has worked on UST properties, service stations, abandoned refineries, railroad roundhouses, wastewater treatment and naval facilities. He is working on project management, remedial investigation/feasibility study analysis, engineering design, plan and specification development, and reporting.
