MulvannyG2 Architecture's international group hired
Renren Zhang as principal and general manager in its Shanghai, China, office and
Thomas A. Boshaw as a principal in its Bellevue office. Zhang has more than 20 years of experience managing and developing international business relationships throughout China and the United States. He will be in charge of all operations for the Asian market. Zhang's most recent position was chief representative for Weyerhaeuser in China. Boshaw has more than 15 years of design experience in large-scale commercial, mixed-use, luxury residential, office and aviation projects around the world. He is the market lead overseeing new Asian developments. Prior to joining MulvannyG2, he developed Asian business strategies and led design teams on several key projects such as the Embassy House and Park Avenue in Beijing, as well as New Jiang Wan in Shanghai. He also worked on two projects that won the Merit Award for Architecture from the American Institute of Architects' Hong Kong Chapter.
Denny Cearns has been promoted to office manager of David Evans and Associates' Bellevue office. Since joining DEA in 2007, Cearns has been working as the regional transportation leader for the firm's Puget Sound offices. Cearns has been involved in public infrastructure development for more than 30 years. Prior to joining DEA, he worked as the Northwest regional manager for DMJM Harris and was also the CEO and president of Entranco until it was acquired by DMJM.
Rushing hired
Joe Llona and
Alexandra Ramsden. Llona joins Rushing's mechanical engineering group. He has worked in the consulting engineering and design/build industries for more than 25 years and has expertise in system concepts, hydronics and water treatment; in the design of laboratory facilities, central plants and cooling towers; and in sustainable practices and design. Ramsden has more than 10 years of experience in sustainable strategy development and architecture. She is an active member of the USGBC and leads initiatives and creates tools that incorporate LEED strategies into projects.
Clark/Kjos Architects hired
Chad Sanderson, Michael Boone and
Jenn Johnson-McLaren. Sanderson has eight years of experience and is working on the new Good Samaritan Hospital Patient Care Tower. Boone has more than 10 years of experience and is working on the Guam Specialties Hospital project. Johnson-McLaren joins the administrative staff to assist with a variety of office-related tasks.
DLR Group promoted Gene Hanson to senior associate and promoted nine people to associates: Paul Clark, Matt Glassman, James Hill, Mike Janes, Dan Luzius, Martin Nunez, Mark Parrish, Oana Stephens and Jeff Wasserman.

ALSC Architects of Spokane promoted
Kris Jeske to associate. Jeske has 14 years of professional experience and has been with ALSC Architects for nine years. He is serving as project architect/manager on the Freeman High School modernization and expansion, and the new Inland Northwest Bank Airway Heights branch.
GGLO hired
David Cutler in its urban design group. Cutler has experience with complex residential, institutional and mixed-use architecture and urban design projects. He worked with Torti Gallas and Partners, a national architecture and planning firm in Los Angles, where he shepherded the firm's urban design and coding work for the Western United States. Cutler has experience with public/private partnerships. At GGLO, Cutler is working on a Blueprint for Transit Oriented Communities in the Northwest region. He also is developing a master plan for a site adjacent to Montana State University in Bozeman and helping the city of Bozeman reexamine its mixed-use zoning codes.
Otak named two new principals and two senior associates. Planner Dave Siegel was promoted to principal, along with Chief Financial Officer Paul Strassmaier. The new senior associates are landscape architect Kate Schwarzler and controller Dominica LoPrete. Siegel has spent more than 30 years as a professional planner and planning advocate. Siegel was APA president in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and led the association's outreach to communities affected by the disaster. Siegel has led planning initiatives including the Regional Growth Summits for the Las Vegas region, Blueprint Houston and the Oregon Visions Project. Strassmaier has more than 15 years of experience managing Northwest architecture firms. He oversees all financial and legal activities at Otak and works with senior managers on project-related issues in risk management and profitability. Schwarzler has more than a decade of landscape architecture and planning experience in the public and private sectors. In addition to working on BLM projects, Schwarzler has assisted with work in the UAE. LoPrete has been with Otak since 1997, managing finances for the company as it has grown to nearly 500 employees in 14 offices.
Callison promoted Dave Scurlock, Doug Shaw and Bret Wiggins to directors, a position for those who show leadership in their fields and help implement firm strategies. Scurlock has an appreciation for design as well as an understanding of technical solutions in his role as a senior project manager.
With more than 15 years in the industry, Shaw has a background in retail. His experience includes interior design and installation for international and American fashion retailers. He has also developed interiors for home and food retail projects. As senior project designer, Wiggins focuses on retail, mixed-use and entertainment centers.
KPFF Consulting Engineers hired Ian Frank as a project engineer in its Tacoma office. Frank, a licensed professional engineer, has six years of experience in structural design of residential, commercial, and industrial structures. He has served with the Southwest Chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington, and is working on the Tote Terminal Marine Construction project at the Port of Tacoma, The Site 11 Esplanade project along the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma, and the Pier B Carrier Wharf project at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton.
