Sclater Partners Architects promoted Bradley R. Smith to associate principal, Scott M. Kunnanz to senior associate and Phaedra Lankutis to associate. Smith joined the firm in 1998 and has 20 years of experience. He has worked on a variety of small to large-scale hotel, institutional, mixed-use and multi-family residential projects including One Lincoln Tower, Lincoln Square expansion and the Bellevue Arts Museum. He is working on the Bellevue Place Hyatt Hotel expansion. Kunnanz has been with the firm for 11 years and focuses on mixed-use developments and office buildings. His most recent projects include Lincoln Square and the Fifth and Jackson Building. He also manages IT and computer systems and is spearheading the transition to Building Information Modeling. Lankutis joined the firm in 2003 and is also working on the Bellevue Place Hyatt Hotel Expansion. She is also project manager for all tenant relocation and renovation projects at Bellevue Square and Bellevue Place.

Erwin has more than 30 years of experience with design and implementation of large-scale audio and video systems, and associated control systems for stadiums, sports arenas and performance venues. He has more than 30 gold and platinum record awards for live and studio engineering and/or production. He is working on the Nintendo corporate offices in Redmond and Four Seasons Hotel and Residence in Seattle. Ruschak worked for 11 years as sales engineer, product line manager and subject matter expert for a wireless public safety communications manufacturer. He will work on wireless communications projects for emergency operations centers, large-scale public safety interoperability projects and other radio frequency systems. He is working on Maui County Police Department Radio System in Wailuku, Hawaii, JeffComm 911 in Port Hadlock and Thurston County Public Safety Radio in Olympia. Carter has more than 14 years of technology consulting experience for commercial, government, health care and residential facilities. He comes to Sparling from Washington, D.C., where he managed nationwide, large-scale technology projects for telecom and AV systems projects. He is working on Performing Arts Center Eastside in Bellevue, Good Samaritan Hospital Patient Tower in Puyallup and the Nintendo corporate headquarters. Brothers will support the design team, coordinate with contractors and manufacturers and ensure that deliverables meet required codes and quality assurance standards. He has more than 20 years of experience and is working on the Central Washington Hospital tower addition in Wenatchee, University Medical Center Princeton Data Center in New Jersey and the Amazon South Lake Union campus.

Parametrix named Peter Battuello to principal in its Bellevue office. He will oversee all day-to-day operations and be responsible for all activities of the office, including business development, project delivery, client relations, and the professional and technical development of staff. Battuello has been with Parametrix for more than 10 years and has led the Bremerton office for the past three years. Under his leadership, the Bremerton office more than doubled in staff and achieved one of the highest sales performances for the company.

IA Interior Architects promoted Kim Parsley of its Seattle office to senior associate. Parsley specializes in sustainable design and recently finished co-writing the city of Seattle's Quick Guide to a Green Tenant Improvement.

DLR Group

DLR Group hired Dan Frahm and Chris Narramore in the Seattle office. Frahm is a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of experience in retail, commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing as a project manager, engineering supervisor, design engineer and commissioning authority. Previously at Starbucks, Frahm joins the Seattle office as a mechanical discipline leader. Narramore is a mechanical engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in commercial, institutional, industrial and retail facilities. His recent focus has been on K-12 facilities in Washington. He was hired as a senior mechanical engineer.

Miller is a marketing and business development specialist with 18 years of experience in the A/E industry and was formerly director of marketing for the Northwest region. Miller is working in tandem with business development, operations, business line management, and the executive staff to shape the future of WHPacific's marketing operations. She will also oversee marketing staff companywide.

VOA Associates, an international architecture, planning, landscape architecture, interior design and LEED consulting firm headquartered in Chicago, recently opened an office in Seattle and hired new staff. Peter Anderson has been registered in the state of Washington since 1978. Anderson began his private practice in 1983 and in 2007 he merged his firm Imago de Lineo with VOA Associates and became Northwest regional director for the company. He has a range of experience, including land development, master planning, new buildings and historic renovation and contract interiors. Kara Roberts joins VOA's Seattle office with a promotion to business development manager from business development coordinator in the Chicago office. Roberts has been with VOA for two years. Carlo Ruth is a senior associate architect who was with VOA's Chicago office for five years and just recently joined the Seattle office.  He has worked on institutional and residential projects and office buildings, multi-unit housing and university facilities. Gary Flaten joins VOA as the office manager. His previous occupation was in the restaurant and catering business.

INCA Engineers hired two new senior project delivery managers. Glenn Chouinard joins the senior management team as director of transportation/transit client services. He will manage business development and provide project management for select major projects. Rex Wong has 20 years of experience and has served as a project manager with TriMet in Portland working on multiple MAX light rail projects and with WSDOT in managing transit planning.

Farallon Consulting

Farallon Consulting hired Jennifer Baptist as project geologist. Baptist has nine years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. Baptist manages various environmental investigation, site characterization, soil and groundwater monitoring and sampling, and remediation projects across the Pacific Northwest. She also prepares Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and is involved in stormwater and compliance management applications.

Hart Crowser

Hart Crowser promoted Troy Fowler to project biochemist and Chris Martin to a senior staff positions in the environmental engineering group in Portland. Fowler specializes in bioremediation and is task manager for the Sweet Home area-wide groundwater investigation project. Martin's expertise includes landfill closure, and conducting field investigations and groundwater sampling at former dry cleaner sites.
