Core Design

The land development firm Core Design hired Bob West in the surveying department to work on residential and commercial projects. West previously worked for the firm, which provides civil engineering, planning, surveying, landscape architecture and urban design.

Perteet

Sperry
Brian Sperry joined Perteet as senior associate in the transportation design group in Seattle. Sperry has supported Puget Sound area agencies for 18 years, working on streets, trails, bridges, intersections and transit facilities. His experience includes Seattle's Northwest Market/45th Street Transit Priority Corridor improvements and West Marginal Way Southwest improvements. Perteet is an engineering firm with offices also in Everett and Snoqualmie.

The Portico Group

The Portico Group hired J. Allen Cox as an associate landscape designer, Melissa Cayabyab as an associate graphic designer and Jessie Feng as accounting manager. Cox most recently worked as a landscape designer at Mithun. He has 10-plus years of experience in landscape design. Before joining Portico, Cayabyab worked as an intern for Left Tree in San Diego as she pursued her bachelor's from San Diego State University. Jessie Feng most recently worked at Deloitte & Touche in Vancouver, Canada, after receiving her master of accountancy from Brock University in Ontario. The Portico Group is comprised of architects, landscape architects and interpretive exhibit designers, specializing in spaces for community and informal education.

DLR Group

Architect Ron van der Veen joined DLR Group as a principal. He has led projects in the United States, with significant experience on higher education facilities. At DLR, he will lead design of buildings meeting the 2030 Challenge targets for carbon neutrality. He is founding board member with the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and has done presentations nationally on green design. DLR provides architecture, engineering, planning and interior design in U.S. offices and in China.

Hart Crowser

Hart Crowser appointed Jeff Barrett, Ph.D, and Robert Klein to its board of directors. Klein is a partner at the law firm Short, Cressman & Burgess. Barrett, senior associate ecologist, is manager of Hart Crowser's natural resources office in Edmonds. Hart Crowser is an environmental and engineering firm headquartered in Seattle.

GGLO

McDevitt
Jerry McDevitt joined GGLO as a principal directing the senior housing practice. GGLO said McDevitt has extensive experience in that market and will help the firm expand in that sector. McDevitt worked for 17 years at Mithun, serving as director of senior living from 1999-2010. His recent projects include The Summit at First Hill in Seattle; Maravilla in Santa Barbara, Calif.; La Vida Real in San Diego; and independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer's care communities for Sunrise Senior Living. McDevitt was on the Urban Land Institute Senior Housing Council from 2006-2010.

Osborn Consulting

O'Brien
Osborn Consulting hired engineer Robert O'Brien as a project manager of transportation stormwater projects. He has 10 years of experience as a drainage engineer in the Puget Sound region, and previously worked for regional clients engineering civil, grading and drainage designs for state highways. He also designed drainage systems for BNSF Railway, Sound Transit facilities and corridor design/build projects. Bellevue-based Osborn focuses on surface water engineering and analyses.

Golder Associates in Redmond hired Eduardo Sierra as a coastal engineer in its coastal engineering group, and Sarah Koski as an office administrator. Sierra has six years of experience designing coastal and marine projects and experience in marine construction. Koski is responsible for the Redmond office and will support other offices in the region. Golder is a ground engineering and environmental consulting firm with more than 150 offices.

Walker Macy hired Marie Vinless as business development director, and Dorothy Bothwell as an associate and project landscape designer, and promoted Chris Jones to associate. Vinless, who has 20-plus years of experience, will lead business development and brand management. Most recently she worked at MulvannyG2 Architects as director of marketing and business development. Bothwell has 15 years of experience in public and private work, including parks and educational facilities. Jones, a landscape designer, has been with the firm since 2005. Projects he managed include: Oregon State Hospital and Washington State University Veterinary Medicine REC-4 Building in Pullman.

Integrus Architecture hired Clint Bailey, Jennifer Butler and Adam Newman as intern architects, Helena Hallanoro as an intern interior designer, Gina Bryan as a marketing coordinator, and Jame Day as a project office assistant. Bailey has a master of architecture from Montana State University. Butler has a master of architecture from Catholic University, and has held other positions in architecture. Newman has a bachelor of architecture from University of Oregon. Hallanoro attends the Art Institute of Seattle. Bryan has 15 years of experience in marketing and support in the A/E/C field. Integrus provides architectural, interior design, structural engineering and security design services.

Degenkolb Engineers

Degenkolb Engineers named Stacy Bartoletti chief executive officer in addition to his position as president and chief operating officer. It also named senior principal Jim Malley vice president of engineering. Chris Poland, CEO for the past 25 years, remains chair of the board of directors and will lead the new technologies group. Bartoletti joined Degenkolb in 1993 and was named president and COO three years ago. Malley has 28-plus years of experience in structural design, seismic evaluation and seismic strengthening. He was project director of the SAC Steel Research project that revised seismic design procedures used for steel buildings worldwide and is leading the $600 million Veteran's Hospital Complex projct in Las Vegas. Degenkolb is a structural engineering firm.

OAC

OAC hired Scott Bastiani as a senior project manager in the construction and project management practice in Seattle. His 20-plus years of industry experience include 16 at Sellen Construction. The firm also hired Jonathan Miller as a project engineer in the Spokane office. He has four years of industry experience, including work for OAC Services. His projects have included work at Richland Public Library and Nine Mile Falls School District.

Affiliated Engineers

Affiliated Engineers hired Thomas Mullins to lead the audiovisual design group in the Seattle office. Mullins has 30-plus years of technology design, consulting and commissioning experience, including work for Microsoft's corporate training and press briefing facilities and the University of Washington's distance learning facilities. Affiliated Engineers is a technical consulting, design and engineering firm.
