Parametrix hired Dave Alford as chief operating officer. He has 28 years of management experience, including strategic planning and expanding the client base. He was a senior vice president at Shaw Group. His clients have included Shell Oil and AT&T. Parametrix is an engineering, planning, and environmental sciences firm.

Spadafore

BCRA hired architect Chris Spadafore, project designers Ermias Ephrem and Amy Brown, engineer-in-training Juan Romero, and Carrie Walker on the interior design staff. Spadafore was with Helix Design Group, and will work on retail development at Hawks Prairie Landing. Ephrem will work on elementary schools in the Clover Park School District. He has a background in government and education projects, and was with DuarteBryant Architecture. Brown will work on Clover Park School District projects. She was with Callison. Romero joins the civil engineering staff, and will work on retail and education projects. Walker is working on federal projects, including the Volar barracks in Fort Polk, La.

Farallon Consulting

Farallon Consulting hired Dincer Kayhan as a geologist and Andrew Vining as an engineer. Kayhan has done field studies in the United States and New Zealand. At Farallon, he works on environmental site assessments, and soil and groundwater sampling, environmental monitoring and remediation. His experience includes design and construction for a water conveyance system, and water quality planning with the King County. Vining works on remedial actions and engineering for environmental projects. Farallon provides environmental consulting.

Soundview Consultants

Soundview Consultants hired Kim Robinson as a financial controller and Edward Sheldon as an environmental field technician. Sheldon will manage remote environmental monitoring and compliance efforts. Soundview is an environmental, natural resource and land use consulting firm specializing in aquatic assessments, permitting and regulatory compliance.

Parametrix

Parametrix hired Steven Metz as a senior member in the rail transit practice. Metz has more than 24 years of engineering experience, and training in architecture and business administration. He worked for an international consulting firm in Portland and has managed the integration of multi-discipline design teams. His work includes Sound Transit's North Corridor project. Parametrix provides engineering, planning, and environmental sciences.

BergerABAM

BergerABAM promoted Ruba Zumut to vice president. She will focus on expanding work with governmental agencies. Zumut has 24 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and construction support on residential, commercial, correctional, institutional and military projects. BergerABAM provides civil and structural engineering, land use planning, natural resources, public involvement, landscape architecture, surveying, construction management and support, and dive services.

Jacobs Associates

Jacobs Associates civil engineering firm promoted Seattle-based Isabelle Lamb and Gregg Davidson to principal. Lamb is its first female principal. An engineering geologist for 20 years, she has done tunnel design and geotechnical consulting in the U.S. and abroad. Lamb is project manager for North Link Light Rail. Davidson has 24 years of experience in design and construction management of tunnel and underground projects around the world, including transportation, water and wastewater conveyance, and hydropower. He is project manager for the Gorge 2nd Hydropower tunnel.

KDF Architecture

Yakima-based KDF Architecture promoted Megan Beyer from project manager to associate. Beyer has worked on clinics and is working on the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center.

Otak

Chris Rayasam joined Otak as chief financial officer. He was corporate controller and director of IT for Hemmera Invirochem, and led implementation of Deltek Vision software and a disaster recovery plan. Rayasam has also worked in management at Aecom/Boyle Engineering Corp. Otak provides engineering, urban design, architecture and planning.

Harmsen & Associates

Harmsen & Associates hired Michael E. Ryan as a project manager in its civil engineering division. He was director of engineering at HBA Design Group, and has worked on highway, runway, road and rail projects and small earth-moving jobs. At Harmsen, he focuses on land development. The firm also provides land surveying, landscape architecture and planning.

Maul Foster & Alongi

Maul Foster & Alongi hired Justin Clary as a senior environmental engineer in Bellingham. Clary is city manager for Ridgefield, and has worked in environmental consulting. MFA provides environmental engineering and planning.
