She is working on the Student Life Building at Green River Community College.

GeoEngineers hired Michael Warfel as a principal environmental geologist. He will lead major environmental and geologic projects in the western U.S. and help manage the environmental group in the Portland office, where he will be based. He previously worked for Shannon & Wilson and Parametrix and has 30-plus years of environmental experience in the Northwest, including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, property transfers and redevelopment. Seattle-based GeoEngineers is an earth science, engineering and technology firm with offices in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Utah, Louisiana and Missouri.

Coffman Engineers hired Cara Visintainer as a senior civil engineer in the Seattle office. Visintainer was formerly with Barghausen Consulting Engineers. She has 12 years of civil engineering design and management experience on commercial, industrial, transportation and residential projects. Coffman provides structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, with offices also in Spokane, Los Angeles, Anchorage, Honolulu, and Hagatna, Guam.

John Penland joined Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects as a project designer/CAD technician. Penland will focus on retail, commercial and governmental work. He previously was with JEA Architects in Atlanta as a project manager. Bernardo|Wills does architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.

SRG Partnership hired Katie Hunt as a designer and Jack Brookman as office manager in the Seattle office. Hunt holds a master's in architecture from the University of Washington. She worked on the Green Futures Lab's green wall at UW. Brookman has 22 years of design firm experience and an academic background in interior and graphic design. SRG provides programming, planning, architecture and interior design.

BHC Consultants hired Tiffany McClaskey as a staff engineer and Shiori Kitazono as a marketing/administrative assistant. McClaskey has four-plus years of experience on green stormwater infrastructure, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analysis, primarily for the King County. She is working on projects for the Shoreline Water District and the city of Lynnwood. Kitazono has more than five years of A&E marketing and administrative assistant experience. BHC provides engineering, planning and code compliance services.

David J. Matthews joined the Bellevue office of Morrison Hershfield as department manager for the NW building envelope consulting group. He has a background in project management and high performance buildings. He previously did building envelope work with LMN Architects on the Seattle Central Library; and on zoos for Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects, Studio Hanson/Roberts, and The Portico Group. Morrison Hershfield is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm with offices in North America.

AHBL named Doreen Gavin president of the firm. Gavin has been an equity principal for the past 15 years, and will continue leading AHBL in partnership with equity principal vice presidents John Becker, Dan Booth, Sean Comfort, Doug Tapp and Matt Weber. Gavin specializes in public projects, including schools, community colleges, and municipal and military buildings, and has helped the firm gain sustainable design work. She is working on Destination Point Defiance for Metro Parks Tacoma. AHBL has 80 employees and provides civil engineering, structural engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and surveying services from offices in Tacoma, Seattle, Spokane and Tri-Cities.

Laughlin is assisting on Eastern Washington University's Patterson Hall. Laughlin holds a bachelor's in interior design from Washington State University. Heupel has more than 23 years of architectural experience, and is working on The Summit for Rockwood Retirement Communities. Nicks has more than 19 years of experience, and has been working on Selah Middle School. Hauber has six-plus years of experience in electrical engineering, and is working on The Summit. NAC provides planning, design, engineering and capital facilities consulting services.
