Runberg Architecture

Flack

Seattle-based Runberg Architecture Group promoted Larry Flack to principal. Flack designs urban infill mixed-use and senior housing projects on the West Coast. He is leading work on Ballard Tallman, a seven-story development with 303 units that will break ground in the fall. Recently, he led work on Expo, a mixed-use apartment project near Seattle Center. Runberg specializes in mixed-use and adaptive reuse projects.

Brandford

NK Architects hired Loren Brandford as a senior technical architect and Aaron Lemchen as a project architect. Brandford is overseeing NK's quality control process. He has 16 years of experience in architecture and worked for NK as a project manager from 2005 to 2007. Lemchen has seven years of architecture and historic preservation experience. Besides being a project architect, he assists with research and development of landmark nominations.

Elliott Bay Design Group

Hudson

Dunning

Elliott Bay Design Group hired Ron Dunning and Joseph Hudson in the Gulf Coast office. Dunning has more than 35 years of experience in structural design of military and offshore vessels, and has worked at design firms and shipyards. Hudson has five years of marine design experience. Elliott Bay provides naval architecture, marine engineering and production support services, and has a Seattle office.

Landau Associates

Fees

Landau Associates hired Sarah Fees as a senior staff hydrogeologist providing groundwater services from the Tacoma office. She has four years of experience in groundwater remediation techniques with a background in impacts to groundwater from mining and agricultural activities.

Candela

Trakulpattanakorn

Candela hired Kesinee Trakulpattanakorn as a lighting designer in the Lynnwood office. Trakulpattanakorn is working on the Lincoln Square expansion in Bellevue and Microsoft Building 43 in Redmond. She started at Candela as an intern in January and is a candidate for a masters of architecture at University of Washington. Candela provides lighting design and consulting services.

Parametrix

Smith

Parametrix hired Theresa Smith as a senior engineer in its Bremerton office. Smith is a civil engineer with more than 17 years of experience. She will work on municipal and transportation projects in the Puget Sound region. She was a senior engineer with the Seattle Department of Transportation and has worked at Parametrix as a project engineer. Parametrix provides services in transportation, natural resources, community building, water solutions, and environmental engineering and science.

Hanson Professional Services

Rapp

Railroad designer Christopher Rapp joined Hanson Professional Services at its Bellevue office. Rapp assists with railroad track and bridge projects in the Northwest. Previously he was a graduate research assistant at the Rail Transportation and Engineering Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an engineering intern for HiFive Development Services in Mason, Ohio.

HOK

Clarke

Tamara Clarke joined HOK's San Francisco office as senior project manager. She has 25 years of project management experience, focusing on justice projects. Clarke previously was a justice and civic principal with DLR in Arizona. HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.

Parsons Brinckerhoff

Jelenic

Parsons Brinckerhoff named Thomas Jelenic senior ports and marine manager in its Los Angeles office. He will lead port environmental planning and design projects and help expand the ports practice in California. He worked for 14 years at the Port of Long Beach, most recently as assistant director of environmental planning. Parsons Brinckerhoff is a global infrastructure consulting, engineering, and program/construction management firm.

Sound Ocean Metal Fabricators

Sound Ocean Metal Fabricators hired Brian Mooney as sales manager, Rocky Monroe as service manager and Mike Unger as project coordinator. Mooney oversees the seafood/food processing and industrial divisions. He previously worked at Argo International overseeing Northwest sales. Monroe is a former owner of Sound Ocean Metal Fabricators and a current board member. He will also be involved in sales. Unger worked at Krause Manufacturing and has project management experience with waste management/portable recycling systems. He will install a processing plant in St. Petersburg, Russia, that the firm designed and built for Pella, a Russian longliner. SOMF is a Skagit County-based custom metal fabrication company.
