Cohen

Community Attributes hired Spencer Cohen as a senior analyst and Bryan Lobel as a planning analyst. Cohen served for seven years as a senior policy adviser and researcher for Washington agencies, including the Department of Commerce and the Washington Economic Development Commission. Lobel was a planner and urban designer at Interface Studio of Philadelphia and a planning assistant in Los Angeles. Seattle-based Community Attributes provides economic strategies, spatial data analysis and urban planning.

Oppenheimer

NK Architects hired Gary Oppenheimer as a project manager. Oppenheimer has 27 years of experience in architecture, focusing on mixed-use, historic renovation and adaptive reuse. He was involved in renovation of Johnson Hall, a 1930s collegiate gothic building at the University of Washington. NK focuses on residential and commercial buildings, with feasibility, design, development and historic consulting services.

Seattle-based Caron Architecture hired Kim Fong as director of design, Marsha Mawer-Olson as project manager, Leticia Lucero as director of interior design and Janine Namgung as business development manager. Fong, an architect, has more than 20 years of experience working on educational projects in Washington. She will lead the public works department at Caron, including higher education and student housing projects, and is now working on multifamily. She was with Hutteball & Oremus Architecture. Mawer-Olson is a designer and project manager with eight years of experience in housing, mixed-use and retail, and is now working on residential developments. She was with Tonkin Hoyne and Freiheit & Ho Architects. Lucero has 15 years of experience in design development, project management, interior design and business development, with work on the Escala condos and Costco warehouses. She will manage tenant improvement and interior design projects, and is working on an assisted-living facility in Kawasaki, Japan. Namgung will lead marketing and business development. She was acquisitions associate at The Richman Group's Portland office, where she helped close 15 real estate transactions consisting of more than $80 million in equity. Caron provides architecture, interior design and planning.

Bixby

SRG Partnership hired Royce Bixby and Yang Liu as designers in its Seattle office. Bixby develops interfaces between digital and physical spaces, and worked at SRG from 2007-2010. He holds a master of architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Liu has two years of experience in retail interior design and entertainment projects. Originally from Luoyang, China, Liu holds a master of architecture from the University of Washington. SRG Partnership provides programming, planning, architecture and interior design from offices in Portland and Seattle.

Buchanan

PKJB Architectural Group hired Christopher Buchanan as a project manager and Charles Van Ausdell as an intern architect, and promoted interior designer Veronica Finney to head the interiors studio. Buchanan focuses on health care, technical and administrative facilities, and manages in-house BIM systems. Van Ausdell holds a masters of architecture from the University of Idaho. He works on document development, quality control, and creating educational and community-building materials. Finney focuses on projects for corporate and account clients. PKJB designs mission critical, industrial, heavy commercial and retail facilities.

Spokane-based Magner Sanborn hired Karmen Blake as senior solutions architect and Nicole Vander Meulen as content strategist. Blake was previously with Apple and has 15 years of industry experience. Vander Meulen was marketing communications specialist at CashLINQ Group. Magner Sanborn is a brand design, marketing and content company.

In its Seattle office, Ankrom Moisan Architects hired Molly Wolf as an architect, Lindsay Schuldt as an interior designer, and Jason Lamb and Jenny Chapman as intern architects. In the Portland office, it hired Sarah Bartlett as marketing manager, Casey Braunger as marketing coordinator, Meaghan Morawski as marketing assistant, Thomas Adcock as branding and identity designer, Robert Lecher and Tim Root as architects, Julie Knorr, Cindy Schaumberg and Christina Rischar as interior designers, and Michelle McPherson, Craig Hanus, Connie Hotovec, Amanda Asa and Mike Hsieh as intern architects. Bartlett has a background in marketing communications, account management, copywriting, and publishing. Ankrom Moisan provides architecture, interiors, urban design and branding from the two offices.

Cary Kopczynski & Co. hired Sabet Vallejo as a project manager, Zohrah Saidy as a structural design engineer and Bill Liang as a senior CAD designer, and added engineering interns Stephanie Vincent and Kellie Filips. Vallejo has 22 years of experience in structural and civil engineering, and previously worked at CKC. Most recently, she worked at Tetra Tech on the Panama Canal expansion. She is working on Lincoln Square in Bellevue. Saidy has seven years of experience as an engineer, most recently with transportation-related structures. She received the PSEC 2013 Young Engineer of the Year award. Liang is returning to CKC. He has 18 years of experience in CAD and seven years in BIM. He is working on the Steele Creek Office Building in Denver. Vincent is pursuing a bachelor's in civil engineering from Washington State University. Filips is pursuing a bachelor's in civil engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee. The Bellevue-based structural engineering firm designs urban buildings and parking structures.

Professional Service Industries

Professional Service Industries hired Casey Curran as business development manager covering the greater Seattle area. He has more than 10 years of industry experience and will be based in the Tacoma office. The firm provides environmental engineering and testing, and is based in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.
