Seattle-based NBBJ appointed Kay Compton, Helen Dimoff and Ryan Mullenix as partners and Hassan Gardezi, Kelly Griffin, Nicola Hewes, Bryan Langlands and Andy Snyder as principals. Compton joined NBBJ in 1996 and works in Seattle. She leads the global commercial practice, with clients that include Nu Skin Enterprises, Rockefeller Group, Amazon and Vulcan Real Estate. She has led design for mixed-use developments, headquarters, civic projects and research facilities. Dimoff joined NBBJ in 2002 and works in New York as the firm's director of communications. Mullenix was hired in 2002 and works in Seattle. He is a leader in the corporate design practice and focuses on large, complex projects. Under his leadership, NBBJ won a number of significant projects, including a new headquarters for Google at the Bayview campus. Gardezi was hired in 2011 and works in Columbus, Ohio, overseeing education and health care projects in the Middle East. Griffin joined NBBJ in 1998 and works in Seattle. She is a project manager, workplace strategist and designer with more than 20 years of experience with corporate clients, including Google, Amgen, Boeing and Russell Investments. Hewes joined NBBJ in 2011 and works in London. She is an architect with more than 20 years of experience coordinating and managing teams on health care, science, education and corporate projects. Langlands was hired in 2010 and works in New York. He is a health care programmer, planner and designer of academic medical centers, specialty centers and community hospitals. Snyder joined the firm in 2006 and works in Columbus, where he leads the science and higher education practice.

Coffman Engineers promoted Dihong Shao to principal. Shao joined Coffman in 2012 and has 27 years of structural engineering experience in health care, solid waste, education, justice and mixed-use projects. Coffman provides structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, and also has offices in Spokane, Anchorage, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Hagatna, Guam.

Trindera Engineering hired James Fawson as an electrical project engineer on municipal, commercial and industrial projects. He was associate engineer at Pro Unlimited in Sacramento, Calif. Trindera is an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm based in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Yost Grube Hall Architecture promoted Andrew Bailey to controller and Katrina Haney to human resources manager, and hired Lori Austin as accounting assistant. Bailey has been with YGH since 2006, and most recently was accounting assistant and staff accountant. Haney has worked in the human resources field for 14 years, the last five at YGH. Austin holds an associate degree from Mount Hood Community College and has eight years of professional experience in Oregon. Yost Grube Hall provides planning, architecture and interior design.

Elliott Bay Design Group hired Nick Bannon and John T.D. Lair as marine engineers. Bannon will work in Seattle and Lair will be in New Orleans. Bannon has eight years of experience, including knowledge of Coast Guard regulations, marine systems and small business practices. Lair has 34-plus years of engineering experience, including system design, machinery design and field engineering. EBDG provides naval architecture, marine engineering and production support services. It also has an office in Ketchikan, Alaska.

The Greenbusch Group promoted Adam Jenkins and Rami Kaur to partner. Jenkins will be chief operating officer. He will work on client relations, business development, project scheduling, forecasting and office technology. Kaur will be chief financial officer. She will oversee accounting and financial reporting, and lead the human resources department. Greenbusch provides acoustical and vibration consulting, mechanical engineering, audio/video technology consulting, vertical transportation design and commissioning services.

SCJ Alliance hired Tyrell Bradley, Patrick Holm and Josh Brannin as project engineers. Bradley has six years of experience in the transportation and civil engineering field, most recently with Skillings Connolly. Holm has more than six years of experience in project management, civil engineering and construction administration. He previously worked at PacLand. Brannin has eight years of civil engineering experience, with an emphasis on stormwater, transportation and design/build projects. He previously worked at PacLand. SCJ provides transportation planning and design, civil engineering, and land use/environmental planning.

Sparling hired Tara Yost, Gaye Jones and Giona Muniz as administrative staff in its Lynnwood office. Yost has five years of experience. As studio coordinator, she provides support to studio principals and works on major project administration. Jones and Muniz work in reception and administrative support. Sparling is an electrical, technology, audiovisual, acoustical and lighting design firm, with offices also in Portland and San Diego.

BergerABAM hired Nelson Holmberg in the Vancouver office as a senior public involvement project manager. Holmberg has more than 20 years of experience in public relations and strategic communications, and nearly 30 years of experience working in and around the media. He has focused on communications and community outreach programs and crisis communications. Most recently, he was executive director at the Port of Woodland.

HDJ Design Group hired Brenda Michel as a marketing/administrative assistant and Justin Koeberle as a survey party chief in its Vancouver headquarters. In Walla Walla, it hired Mark Wendover as a survey party chief. Michel has 20 years of experience in engineering design and will help market to clients in the Northwest. Koeberle has more than 10 years of survey experience in Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. Wendover has more than eight years of land survey experience, including establishing GPS and conventional survey control networks. HDJ is an engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm. It also has an office in the Tri-Cities.
