Knittel

Thomas Knittel is the new design principal in HDR's Seattle's architecture studio, overseeing design direction of the studio's projects. Also, he and managing principal Duncan Griffin lead HDR's center of regenerative design. Knittel was a design partner at McLennan Design, which he started with former colleagues from BNIM. HDR provides engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services.

David Evans and Associates

Ric Ilgenfritz joined David Evans and Associates as transit and railroad services planning manager and vice president, and leader of its downtown Seattle office. He has worked on major transit and transportation infrastructure projects. He spent over 16 years on the executive leadership team at Sound Transit, where he led the crafting of the ST2 and ST3 system plans. DEA provides design services for transportation, water, environmental, land, energy and marine infrastructure systems.

ZGF Architects

In Seattle, ZGF Architects hired Paul Diaz as a computational and sustainable design specialist. Diaz has over six years of experience in those fields.

Elliott Bay Design Group

Fielding

Theresa Fielding joined Elliott Bay Design Group's Seattle office as a project manager/senior engineer. She has over 18 years of naval architecture experience. She will work on commercial vessel designs and modification of vessels, along with structural design, analysis and standards development. EBDG provides naval architecture, marine engineering and production support.

In Seattle, OAC Services promoted Dave Jobs to senior associate and Brad Rock, Wesley Bergquist, Kyle Richardson, Alisa Billbe and Nathan Seney to associate. In Olympia, it promoted Kasey Wyatt to principal and Cynthia Balzarini to project manager. In Spokane, it promoted Jeff Jurgensen to senior associate and Jonathan Miller to senior project manager. Jobs has over 20 years of project management experience, and has worked on justice, school, hospital, municipal and high tech projects, including the King County Children & Family Justice Center. Rock has 11 years of experience, and leads construction management of the Seattle Asian Art Museum expansion. Bergquist developed OAC's relationships with Northwest nonprofit clients that include Hopelink, Food Lifeline and The Richard Hugo House. Richardson has over 30 years of experience in construction and project management, a background in transportation, aviation, heavy-civil and commercial construction delivery, and has worked on modular projects. Billbe has over 10 years of technical experience, and has done tenant improvements and renovations. Her work includes The Steve Ballmer Global Innovation Exchange Building in Bellevue. Seney has nearly 20 years of experience, and is on the architectural and engineering team. He introduced new building exterior remediation services to the firm. Wyatt manages the Olympia office and leads the EDU group, which does project and construction management for education facilities. She has 22 years of experience, including on school, public works and municipal projects. Balzarini has over 16 years of experience in construction management and is on the EDU team. Her work includes the Washington State School Directors' Association Headquarters. Jurgensen founded OAC's Spokane office. He has led construction projects in Eastern Washington, and has over 26 years of experience that includes school, transportation, health care and data center projects. Miller has done school and municipal projects in Eastern Washington. His work includes Central Valley School District's continuing bond program.

Hermanson Co.

Hamilton

Kent-based Hermanson Co. hired Scott Hamilton as a project manager in its critical environments group. He has almost 30 years of mechanical construction experience and works on Harrison Hospital in Silverdale. Hermanson provides mechanical construction, design-build engineering and service/maintenance.

Swift Co.

Gareth Loveridge and Mike Koski-Harja joined Barbara Swift as members in leading Swift Co., a Seattle-based landscape architecture and urban design firm. Loveridge and Koski-Harja have over the last 10 years contributed to and led projects that include 400 Fairview, Sound Transit's University of Washington Station and Troy Block. Current projects include Seattle Center Arena, Sound Transit Northgate Extension Link stations and Skanska's 2+U.

DLR Group

In Seattle, DLR Group hired Tanvi Dhar (architecture), Cole Franklin (structural engineering) and Claire McConnell (architecture). DLR provides architecture, engineering, interiors, planning and building optimization.
