In Seattle, ZGF Architects hired Dr. Flavia Grey to lead its firmwide data and research and development group. Grey will work to incorporate data-driven decision-making into design. That data includes occupancy evaluations, space utilization studies and other project-specific and firmwide research. She is doing preoccupancy evaluations for Seattle Children's Hospital, which is moving administrative functions off its main campus. Grey wrote studies examining the connection between building design, sustainability, well-being and productivity as a Stanford University researcher, and hosts the U.S. Green Building Council podcast “Built for Health,” in which she interviews public health professionals, researchers and building-industry practitioners about designing, building and operating healthier buildings. ZGF focuses on architecture, urban design and interior design.

In Seattle, B+H Architects hired architect Matthias A. Olt as the design director for architecture. Olt will work to expand the firm's core and shell design services and its mass timber design practice and related aspects of design innovation. He is working on a new 17-story mixed-use tower on Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle. Olt has 26 years of international experience. Most recently, he was with DLR Group in Seattle, where he provided design leadership in mass timber design and technology, led a concept design for a 12-story mass timber office and hotel tower in Seattle and developed a construction typology study for Tishman Speyer in California. B+H Architects offers architecture, planning, interior design, urban planning and real estate advisory and consulting services.

He is focusing on repair and reconstruction of damaged buildings, structural damage investigations and assessments and structural engineering expert witness services. Thomas has over 30 years of experience investigating structural, civil and building envelope failures. He has a background in materials testing and inspection and provides engineering support to the insurance, legal and building management industries for construction defect litigation. Larson has over a decade of experience in structural forensics engineering. She does structural damage assessments and damage investigations for property losses and is an expert witness for commercial, residential and marine facilities. Humiston applies 16 years of experience to advance educational, industrial and highly sophisticated R&D spaces. Nix has a bachelor's in interior design from Washington State University and over six years of interior design experience locally for a design and construction firm specializing in hospitality renovation, and as lead designer for a residential and commercial architect. She's also been a freelance graphic designer. Zervas is an architectural and interior design firm.

Boise, Idaho-based Strata promoted Paxton Anderson to chief operating officer. Anderson was previously North Region manager, and has led the company toward increased presence and profitability in the Inland Northwest. He has 24 years of experience, including 14 with the firm, and will work to unify and streamline systems and processes across its seven offices. He works in the Spokane office. Strata provides geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection services.

Iwanski has nearly eight years of marketing experience in the architecture/engineering/construction sector. She worked for the AGC of Washington Education Foundation for nearly five years in marketing, and for View Inc., formerly View Dynamic Glass, as a customer success manager. Peterson was with Jasmine Pearl Tea Co. in Portland for four years, working in customer relations, education, event coordination and training roles. Runberg designs mixed-use projects.

Idoux, an interior designer, joined Weber Thompson with a hospitality design portfolio. At the firm, she has worked on the refresh of Willows Lodge Spa in Woodinville, and the design of Orenda workforce housing at Othello Square and the Stratus high-rise, both in Seattle. Porter is in the commercial office design studio, and is project architect on Dunn Lumber's Latona Station project in Wallingford. She is a certified passive house consultant. Yuen is a landscape designer in the landscape design studio. He has over 25 years of experience and is a leader in construction administration and quality control within the firm. Weber Thompson provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and community/urban design.

TCF Architecture of Tacoma promoted Amy Gingerich and James Mill to associate and Scott Olson to senior associate. Gingerich has worked in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Tacoma. She has over seven years of architecture and design experience and is in the industrial studio. She is managing the design of a new headquarters project for Chelan County PUD and working on a long-term facilities study for Kitsap Transit.

Mill has over 20 years of experience in architecture and construction, including several leading his own design firm. He specializes in K-12 projects, and has worked on Lake Wilderness, Parkside and Peter G. Schmidt elementary schools. He is managing the historic modernization of “Old Main” on the campus of Mount Vernon High School and an interior renovation of the original gym building for the school's administration department.

Olson is TCF's design director. He has over 23 years in the architecture profession, with work in the education, civic, industrial and retail markets including on the new Agriplex and Arena at the Washington State Fair and a renovation for Seattle World School at T.T. Minor.
