Horton Lantz Marocco, a Seattle-based advertising, design and Web firm, announced four additions to its team. Mark Sivertsen joins the company as a senior copywriter. Sivertsen has spent the last three years as a freelance copywriter for companies including Big Bang Idea Engineering and MCI. Rae Tapia joins the company as a print production coordinator. Erin Keaty joins the company as a marketing coordinator. Sandra Mitchell joins the company as bookkeeper.

QBeo

QBeo, a North Bend-based innovator of digital image enhancement technology, announced that Michael Dunn, chief technology officer of Time Warner Inc., has accepted a seat on QBeo's board of directors. As chief technology officer at Time Warner, Dunn provides company-wide leadership for technology research and development, architecture and infrastructure design, evaluating applications of new technologies and standards. In addition, QBeo recently announced it is applying its ImageOp technology to broadband cable. The new service, My Photo Gallery, will provide cable TV subscribers with image storage, enhancement, editing and print-ordering from home.

Arthur Andersen

Arthur Andersen, a global business advisory firm, announced several key staff promotions. Three new partners, one principal and five managers were named by Patty Bedient, managing partner in the firm's Seattle office. Promoted to member firm partner were Dale Merrill and Brandon Pedersen, both in Arthur Andersen's assurance practice, and Nolan Newman, a healthcare specialist in the firm's tax services practice. Thomas Sikov, a customer solutions expert in the firm's business consulting practice, has been named principal. Promoted to the position of manager are Kelly Dillingham, Amy Hintz, Karla Kelly, Karen Near and Dawn Marie Tozzi.

Dotster

Dotster, a Longview-based accredited registrar of .com, .net and .org domain names, announced the addition of Clint Page as president and CEO. Page joins the Internet startup with more than 18 years of senior-level executive management experience. He joins the company after a five-year run as president of the Cowlitz Economic Development Council. One of his first responsibilities will be to build infrastructure and attract additional management, customer service and IT talent to the company

ABKJ

Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs has made several promotions to its corporate board.

Dennis Baerwald has been promoted to president. He has been with ABKJ for more than 30 years and has designed hundreds projects, including housing structures, office buildings, medical facilities, parking facilities, seismic renovations and fast-track projects.

The firm has promoted Tom Pittsford to executive vice president. He has more than 23 years of structural engineering experience with the firm and is skilled in structural building design, having worked on more than 90 seismic renovations and studies.

Pong Jongjitirat, who is vice president, has been promoted to secretary/treasurer of the board of directors. He is the firm's transportation department manager and has more than 27 years of structural engineering experience involving more than 60 projects and 100 bridges.

Bharat Soli remains as CEO and chairman of the board.The firm has recently added three new engineers to its building and transportation departments. Julie GaNung, who joins the bridge design group, has completed work on an Oregon Department of Transportation bridge load rating and is currently working on the California Street Overcrossing project in Everett.

Wade Damey, who joins the firm's building department as a design engineer, is assisting with the University of Alaska-Anchorage parking garage and the African Northwest warehouse projects.

Jason Shrope, who has two years experience in civil engineering, joins the firm's transportation department, where he is working on the Mt. Si bridge, Wynaco bridge, and Woods Creek bridge projects, as well as helping with the University of Washington Medical Center Surgery Pavilion.

AGRA Earth & Environmental/AMEC

AGRA Earth & Environmental has appointed Roger Jinks as its new president. The firm has also adopted AMEC as its new name, following AGRA's merger in April with AMEC, a publicly traded British engineering firm.

Jinks has worked in various management positions at AGRA since 1987. Most recently, he was executive vice president of the company's western Canada, West Coast and international operations. The company's numerous offices around the country include three in Washington state -- Kirkland, Tacoma and Spokane.

Architects BCRA/Tsang of Tacoma

Christine Phillips and Jim Cave have recently joined Architects BCRA/Tsang as project architects.

Phillips, who has 18 years of architectural experience, specializes in programmatic needs assessments. She is working on Tacoma Public Utilities' Click! Network Headquarters; Gordon Trucking's new office building in Pacific; and the Peninsula Medical Center in Gig Harbor.

Cave, who has 12 years of professional experience, has designed buildings for various government agencies. He is working on King's Manor Assisted Living Facility and Lloyd Enterprises new office building.

Mulvanny Architects

Mulvanny Architects has promoted Ted Caloger, Dan Foltz and Steve Harmon to vice president. All three architects were principals of the firm.

Caloger has been practicing architecture for 28 years and specializes in the planning and management of large and complex office, hotel and mixed-use projects. His projects with Mulvanny G2 include the 29-story Elliott Hotel in downtown Seattle, Union Bay headquarters in Seattle, and the new Tacoma Convention Center.

Foltz has 20 years of architecture experience, both domestic and international, and is Mulvanny's corporate director of design. His projects with Mulvanny G2 include the Bellevue Technology Tower; the Bellevue super-block, mixed-use project; and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle.

Harmon has 20 of years experience in a variety of project types including retail, office, residential and mixed-use. He has worked on a number of projects for Nordstrom, including its flagship store in downtown Seattle, and a variety of shopping center renovations. His projects with Mulvanny G2 include the Hines One Twelfth at Twelfth office building in Bellevue and the Bellevue super-block, mixed-use project.

Mithun Architects + Designers + Planners

Mithun Architects + Designers + Planners has named Bert Gregory as president and chief executive officer and Bruce Williams as chief operating officer.

Gregory has been a principal at the firm since 1990 and will lead the design and technical quality areas of the practice, as well as continue to serve as the principal-in-charge and project designer.

Williams, the firm's vice president, will also continue his work on health care projects across the country while serving as the chief operating officer. He has been with the firm for 23 years and a principal since 1990.

Thom Emrich has stepped aside as president, a position he held for 10 years, to serve as the firm's secretary/treasurer and strategic planner. Emrich has been with the firm since 1967 and has been a principal since 1980.
