Richard J. Conrad was recently hired by Well Fargo Private Client Services, a division of Wells Fargo Bank N.A., as senior vice president and regional trust manager for Washington and Alaska. Conrad has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. James P. Kerr was named regional manger for Wells Fargo (PCS) in Washington state. Kerr, president of Ragen MacKenzie, a division of Wells Fargo Investments, LLC, will oversee Wells Fargo Investments, Private Banking, Investment Management and Trust. He will also manage Ragen MacKenzie brokerage branches in Washington and Alaska.
Aaron E. Kornblum has been hired by Graham & Dunn, a multipractice law firm, as an associate. Kornblum will join the firm's Banking and Financial Institutions Team. Kornblum had previously served on active duty as a U.S. Air Force judge advocate.
Red Lion Hotels & Inns will open its second Colorado property in a week. The Red Lion Inn & Suites Pagosa Springs was formerly the Pagosa Inn & Suites. Becker Enterprises Inc. owns and manages the hotel through a licensing agreement with Red Lion Hotels, Inc.
The University of Phoenix, in conjunction with the League for Innovation in the Community Colleges, is introducing a Bachelor of Science in Management degree starting this fall. The program was developed to remove duplication of credits with transfers. The university now accepts all associate degree credits earned from community colleges participating in the program. The school's Washington campus is a branch of the Phoenix-based operation. Branches here are in Southcenter, Bellevue and Mountlake Terrace.

Jay Larson has been named director of human resources at the Westin Seattle. He will be in charge of employee and labor relations, training and development, and recruitment and hiring. Larson was the director of human resources for Sheraton Hotels.

Maureen Morris has been appointed assistant vice president of Washington State Bank. Morris has worked for Washington State Bank for nine years, and worked at a Tacoma bank for seven years prior to that.
An open house will be held on July 22 from 1-4 pm by Seattle's ElderHealth Northwest to offer tours and information about its acquisition of a historical home on Capitol Hill. The home will be a supported living residence to be opened in 2002. For more information, call (206) 721-1565.
The UW Business School Alumni Association will hold its 2001 alumni golf classic at Washington National Golf Club on July 19. The event will help raise funds for business school scholarships. Frank Young, the CEO of GLY Construction and a UW alumnus, will do a dollar-for-dollar match of tournament proceeds up to $25,000. The event begins at noon and will also include a dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $150 for Alumni Association members, and $185 for nonmembers; foursomes are $600.
