Mackie Designs

Gregory W. Riker was named chairman of the board of directors at Mackie Designs. He will succeed the company's founder Gregory C. Mackie who has been named chairman emeritus and will remain a director on the board. Riker has served as a director at the company since 1998. He previously was associated with Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Atari, and currently works as a lecturer and consultant to technology companies. Mackie Designs, based in Woodinville, manufactures and markets professional audio equipment.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

Peter Livingston has joined Portland-based Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt's real estate and land use team. Livingston serves as an adjunct professor of land use law on the faculty of Willamette University College of Law and previously sat for three years on the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt's land use team provides legal assistance to developers and owners. The firm has offices in Bend, Salem, Seattle and Vancouver.

Bastyr University

Joseph Pizzorno, Jr., ND, president emeritus of Bastyr University, has received the 2002 Physician of the Year award from the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and was recognized for his work as a member of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. Pizzorno, along with two other physicians, founded Bastyr University in 1978. In 2001, Pizzorno founded Salugenecists to develop artificial intelligence-aided advice systems to provide personalized health promotion and self-care guidance for the public and practitioners. He currently serves as senior advisor to the president of Bastyr.

First Choice Health Network

First Choice Health Network named Thomas Maschhoff vice president in charge of the organization's new employee assistance program. Maschhoff is a licensed mental health counselor and is one of the founders of Maschhoff, Barr & Associates in Tacoma. First Choice Health provides health care services to approximately 50,000 members and over 1.2 million preferred provider organization enrollees in the Northwest.

EvergreenBank

Susan Gates is the new executive vice president and chief credit officer at EvergreenBank. She will be responsible for EvergreenBank's commercial lending program, including new business development and credit policy. Gates previously served KeyBank as senior vice president and senior credit officer for community and middle market business lending. Seattle-based EvergreenBank is a locally-owned, independent commercial bank with three branches in Seattle, Lynnwood and Bellevue.

City University

City University named Richard P. Geier to the position of account manager, business development. Geier, a retired U.S. Army colonel will specifically target Puget Sound military bases for the university. Geier was most recently vice president of administrative services at Skagit Valley College.

Rohde & Van Kampen

Al Van Kampen and Robert Rohde have formed the law firm of Rohde & Van Kampen. Van Kampen was previously a partner at Bogle & Gates and Rohde is a former chair of Bogle & Gates' intellectual property practice group. The new firm will focus on intellectual property litigation, antitrust, trademarks, copyright, complex commercial litigation, health care, franchise litigation, securities arbitration and insurance coverage from its downtown Seattle location.

Seattle University

Seattle University named Margie Kates director of professional certification for its School of Education and Robert House as the Albers School of Business and Economics director of undergraduate programs. Kates was most recently a field supervisor for the master's in teaching program at Seattle University. House recently served as director of advising at City University's Auburn site and career and educational advisor at its main campus in Renton.

Lynden Transport

Lynden Transport was named to the top spot of Logistics Management Magazine’s annual Quest for Quality survey among western regional carriers. This is the seventh year in a row Lynden has been ranked as one of the best regional carriers. Lynden Air Freight also scored the top award in the freight forwarders category. Lynden Transport, based in Anchorage, is a multi-modal, regional, common and contract carrier primarily serving Alaska.
