Boeing

Judith Muhlberg, senior vice president of communications for Boeing, is resigning. Muhlberg joined Boeing in March 1999. She is credited with launching new global advertising and marketing campaigns and developing the strategy behind announcing Boeing's 2001 relocation of its headquarters from Seattle to Chicago. Larry McCracken, vice president and deputy for communications, will lead the department until a permanent replacement is named. Muhlberg worked for more than 20 years with Ford Motor Co. and for two years in the White House, during the Ford Administration.

Cutter & Buck

Cutter & Buck promoted Theresa Treat to vice president and manager of its human resources group and Brian Thompson to vice president and manager of its corporate division. Seattle-based Cutter & Buck designs and markets sportswear and outerwear.

WhitePages.com of Seattle announced a re-incorporation and new name as W3 Data. The new brand reflects the company's expanded mission to provide directory assistance-related tools and services to businesses via the Internet. The company also announced a new Web address at www.w3data.com.

Avista

Karen S. Feltes, vice president of human resources at Spokane-based Avista, will take on the added responsibilities of corporate secretary for the firm in preparation for the retirement of Terry L. Syms. Syms has been with the company for 37 years. The company also announced that Lloyd Meyers, vice president of power supply, will conclude his 28-year career with Avista when he retires in June. Replacing him will be Ronald R. Peterson, currently vice president and treasurer. In addition, David A. Brukardt was named vice president and treasurer. Brukardt was previously vice president of corporate relations and strategic planning and chief communication officer.

Loudeye

Seattle's Loudeye appointed Jeff Cavins president and chief executive. He will replace Phil Gioia, who has resigned. Cavins has also been appointed to the company's board of directors. Anthony Bay, a board member for nearly three years, will replace Chad Waite as chairman of the board.

KNCB Dave

KNCB Dave, a Seattle-based advertising, marketing and public relations agency, promoted Debra Collison to director of creative services. The agency also named Ryan Day and Jennifer Charlot as account coordinators in advertising, and promoted Jessica Fisher to account coordinator, advertising.

Dorsey & Whitney

Peter Ehrlichman has joined the Seattle law firm of Dorsey & Whitney as a partner in its trial group and co-chair of its Seattle trial practice group. Ehrlichman’s practice includes complex litigation, securities, commercial, employment, non-competition and intellectual property, including trade secrets, computer software issues and trademarks. Ehrlichman was with Foster Pepper & Shefelman for the past 26 years.

Port of Tacoma

Andrew Michels is the new risk manager at the Port of Tacoma. He will be responsible for safety and accident prevention programs, insurance and workers compensation claims, and compliance with Washington State Department of Labor and Industries regulations. Michels was with the city of Tacoma for the past 28 years, most recently as risk manager.

Wells Fargo Private Client Services

Wells Fargo Private Client Services named Susan M. Smith as a private banker and Clarence Cal Jr. as a private banker and vice president. Smith, most recently with Key Bank will be based in Bellevue. Cal most recently served as a private banker with U.S. Bank.

U.S. Trust Corp.

U.S. Trust Corp. has opened an office in Seattle at Two Union Square. Acting as joint co-heads of the office are Rex Wardlaw, a senior portfolio manager, and Muriel Van Housen, a business development officer. Both are senior vice presidents for the New York-based U.S. Trust. The Seattle office will offer investment management, trust and financial planning services.

Purdie Rogers

Purdie Rogers has opened a branch office in Portland. Heather Crunchie, a partner with the firm, will manage the new branch. Purdie Rogers is a Seattle-based advertising and public relations agency.
