Mann Law Group

Seattle trial lawyer Philip P. Mann formed the Mann Law Group, which offers contingency-fee billing arrangements. The firm assumes much of the risk in return for a share in the success. Mann is a trial lawyer with 20 years' experience litigating patent, trademark, trade secret and other intellectual property matters in courts and before juries around the country. Mann was a member of Seattle intellectual property law firm Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness. Mann Law Group has offices in downtown Seattle.

Seattle-Northwest Securities

Seattle-Northwest Securities Corp., a Seattle-based investment bank and bond underwriter, added Steven W. Sims to its municipal trading department. Sims was with UBS Financial Services (PaineWebber) where he managed purchase and sale of secondary market municipal securities. Sims held positions as vice president for McDonald Investments (Keycorp), and as a municipal trader at U.S. Bank.

Terra Resource Group

Washington CEO Magazine named Terra Resource Group, an Everett-based recruiting and staffing firm, "Best Company to Work for in Washington State." Terra won first out of 39 companies in the small business category. It was one of four Snohomish County firms that were finalists.

Todd Shipyards

Todd Shipyards elected William L. Lewi to its board of directors. Lewis is president and chief executive officer of Lease Crutcher Lewis, a construction firm headquartered in Seattle. Todd Pacific Shipyards repairs and maintains commercial and federal government vessels.

Washington Restaurant Association

The Seattle chapter of the Washington Restaurant Association named new officers for one-year terms. Tom Buckley will be treasurer. The new president will be Michael Degano and the new vice president Chad Mackay. Outgoing officers are president Karl Bruno, vice president Richard Malia, secretary and treasurer Maureen "Mo" Shaw, and representative at large Scott France. Previous officers created summer promotions as well as Dinner at 8, a program through which diners can have a three-course meal for $20.

King County Sexual Assault Resource Center

The King County Sexual Assault Resource Center named new board officers: Sue Lerner is president, Jeff Brown is treasurer and Elizabeth Chambers is secretary. New board members are: Lauren Jassny, lisha Holdener Mark, Sean O'Brien, Glenda Roberts and Donna L. Smith. The Renton-based nonprofit works on education and prevention programs and runs a 24-hour information line.

Drugstore.com

Bellevue-based drugstore.com, inc. has appointed Dawn G. Lepore as its chief executive officer and chairman of the board. Lepore succeeds Kal Raman, who stepped down as CEO in June, and Peter Neupert, who is retiring from the board. Lepore is vice chairman of technology, operations and administration of the Charles Schwab Corp., where she has worked for 21 years. She is a board member for Wal-Mart and eBay. The company also announced L. John Doerr will retire from the board.

Regal Financial Bank

Regal Financial Bank added Patrick M. Kennedy to its team of bankers and financial professionals. Kennedy is senior vice president. He has 20 years of commercial banking experience, working as senior vice president at First Horizon National Corp. Kennedy will manage lending personnel, and work on building new clientele. Regal Financial Bank is based in Seattle. It focuses on small and mid-sized companies, business owners and professionals.

AmericanWest Bancorp

Spokane's AmericanWest Bancorp appointed Robert M. Daugherty president and chief executive officer. Daugherty has more than 30 years of banking experience and was in the same position with Humboldt Bank of California. He succeeds Wes Colley. AmericanWest is a community bank holding company with 44 offices in eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

Western Washington University

Amy Cloud joined Western Washington University's office of university communications as media coordinator. Cloud was a news coordinator at KVOS TV-12 in Bellingham. As public affairs producer, she also directed talk shows. She has more than 15 years experience in broadcast and print media.

Eddie Bauer

Redmond-headquartered Eddie Bauer, a clothing company, named Stephen Cirona vice president of design. As an executive vice president, Cirona helped expand Tommy Hilfiger USA, where he also created a corporate design group and directed design. Cirona has created clothes for Harry Connick Jr., Aerosmith, Sheryl Crow and Sugar Ray. Eddie Bauer has 300 stores in the U.S. and Canada, and joint venture partnerships in Germany and Japan.
