Point B

@NewsBriefs Point B Solutions Group promoted Brian Murphy to lead its Phoenix office as practice director. Murphy has 15 years of business consulting experience and was a senior associate in Point B's Seattle office. He has worked with Microsoft, Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Skanska USA Building. Point B is a professional services firm that works on project leadership. It opened a Phoenix office earlier this year.

Westin Seattle

@NewsBriefs Jerri Lane was named director of sales and marketing for The Westin Seattle, a position she held previously at the Westin. She replaces Don Boyd. She directed sales and marketing at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers. Westin Seattle is located at 1900 Fifth Ave. and owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Silicon Mechanics

@NewsBriefs Silicon Mechanics, a provider of servers, storage and computing solutions, named Art Mann vice president of sales. Mann will oversee Silicon Mechanics' strategic sales in the U.S. and abroad. Mann has sales experience in information technology and was global account sales executive with Compaq. Silicon Mechanics is based in Seattle.

Shurgard

Shurgard Storage Centers named Dev Ghose executive vice president and chief financial officer. Ghose succeeds Dave Grant, who was interim CFO. Ghose was an executive at Health Care Property Investors. He worked with Price Waterhouse in the U.S. as audit manager and KPMG in the U.K., where he was responsible for diversified manufacturing and service companies. Shurgard is a real estate investment trust headquartered in Seattle. The company operates 600 storage centers throughout the U.S. and in Europe.

Washington Credit Union League

The Washington Credit Union League announced its executive committee members: Byron Edgett, chair; Bob Harvey, vice chair; Elliot Gregg, secretary; and Paul Regimbal, treasurer. The board of directors is: Terri McKee, Elliot Gregg, Robert Harvey, Debie Bauer, John Bechtholt, Joanne Pearson, Paul Regimbal, Mark Neumann, Byron Edgett and Don Larsen. The league represents 130 of the state's nonprofit credit unions.

Seattle Foundation Awards

The Seattle Foundation granted $1.1 million to 69 King County nonprofits. Award recipients include: Archdiocesan Housing Authority, $70,000; Central Area Development Association, $20,000; Hopelink, $40,000; Interfaith Hospitality Network of Seattle, $15,000; Plymouth Housing Group, $100,000; Southeast Seattle Senior Foundation, $20,000; and White Center Community Development, $20,000. The foundation's goal is to improve the quality of life in the greater Seattle area. It's assets total more than $350 million.

Pacific Edge Software

Bellevue-headquartered Pacific Edge Software promoted John Scumniotales to vice president of product development. The company provides enterprise portfolio solutions for managing technology investments. Scumniotales has 17 years of experience in product development and professional services and will work on program management, software engineering, quality assurance and technical documentation.

Internal Revenue Service

The Internal Revenue Service seeks volunteers with computer expertise. Volunteers prepare federal returns for non-English speakers, the disabled and people with limited incomes.
