Cray appointed Ly-Huong T. Pham senior vice president of operations. Pham will work on engineering, manufacturing, employee support and information services. Peter J. Ungaro is senior vice president for sales and marketing. Ungaro held sales leadership positions at IBM. Cray is a Seattle-based global supercomputer company.
The Washington State Bar Association announced Gabriel S. "Gabe" Galanda received the Washington Young Lawyers Division's outstanding young lawyer award. Galanda is an associate in the Seattle office of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs, where he works on multiparty commercial and tribal litigation. Allison A. Williams won the president's award. Williams is a third-year associate with Seattle law firm Firestone, Landsman, Fleming, Dixon & Matson. The Washington State Bar Association is a nonprofit professional association.
The Garden City Group is opening a new West Coast regional headquarters in Seattle. Jennifer Keough, vice president and managing director, will lead West Coast operations. Seattle's Girl Scouts Totem Council is accepting nominations for its 2004 Woman of Distinction award, which recognizes a Puget Sound region woman who is an outstanding community leader and role model for girls. The winner will be announced Dec. 8. Nomination forms are posted at http://www.girlscoutstotem.org/womanofdistinction. Deadline is Oct. 15.

Mukilteo-based Dillon Works hired Ted Burleson as director of operations. Burleson has 30 years' experience in project management, supervision, estimating and fabrication in the entertainment industry. Dillon Works specializes in custom design and fabrication of dimensional and architectural elements. The company has worked on creative projects with Walt Disney, Sony and Nordstrom.
Kent-based Old Dominion Freight Line named Scott R. Moberly district sales representative. Moberly has four years' experience in the transportation field. Old Dominion is a less-than-truckload regional carrier that offers services in 40 states.
Vancouver-based chain Papa Murphy's Take ‘N' Bake Pizza promoted Jerry Kenney to senior vice president of corporate operations and Stephanie Mehta to vice president of business services. The company plans to expand from 820 locations to 950 in 2005. Kenney has more than 32 years of experience in the restaurant business and will oversee western and midwestern operations. Mehta oversees training, corporate communications, customer services and government relations. She spent 17 years in management at McDonald's and Taco Bell.
