Gregory R. Fox joined Seattle law firm Lane Powell Spears Lubersky. Fox's practice will focus on commercial finance, creditor's rights, bankruptcy and business law. Lane Powell offers legal services in business, employment and litigation. It has 170 lawyers in Washington, Oregon and Alaska as well as an office in London.
Seattle-based Cascade Natural Gas Corp. named W. Brian Matsuyama vice chairman. Matsuyama will also remain chief executive officer until a new CEO is found. Cascade serves 220,000 residential, commercial, industrial and transportation customers in Washington and Oregon.
Pet's Choice of Bellevue added Northwood Veterinary Hospital of Anderson, Ind., to its family of veterinary hospitals. Northwood cares for dogs, cats and other small pets. Pet's Choice now works with 48 hospitals in five states on accounting, human resources, information systems and marketing services.
Law firm Graham & Dunn added associates Derek P. de Bakker, Steven A. Miller and Meredith M. Santos. Associate de Bakker will work on real estate. Miller and Santos will focus on financial services. Graham & Dunn is an industry-focused law firm based in Seattle. Its 55 lawyers represent clients in complex litigation.

Gov. Gary Locke appointed Dennis Madsen, president and chief executive officer of Recreational Equipment, Inc., to Western Washington University's board of trustees. Madsen is president of the Western Washington University Foundation. Of his 38 years with REI, he has spent 13 years as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Wireless carrier Nextel Partners promoted two to lead sales. Jeff Bennett was appointed director of sales and will lead efforts in the company's mid-south and southeast markets. Jeff Gehring will lead sales for south coast and midwest markets. Gehring has more than 25 years sales and marketing experience for telecom and high-tech companies. Nextel Partners is based in Kirkland.
Carol K. Nelson, president and chief executive officer of Cascade Financial Corp., ranked 21st on U.S. Banker Magazine's list of "25 Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance." Cascade Bank, a state chartered commercial bank, is a subsidiary of Cascade Financial Corp. and runs 16 offices. It opened a new branch recently in Snohomish.
Gregg Patterson is director of communications for Ducks Unlimited. Patterson has worked in public relations, broadcasting and editing. He was with Winrock International and also ran an outdoors media business for 20 years. Ducks Unlimited is a global wetland and waterfowl conservation group headquartered in Memphis, Tenn.
