Columbia Bank promoted Sue Leonard to senior vice president and general auditor. Leonard was vice president at KeyCorp and started her 37-year banking career at Seattle First National Bank. Columbia is a subsidiary of Columbia Banking System and has 34 branches in Pierce, King, Cowlitz, Kitsap and Thurston counties.
Seattle's Pacific Biometrics appointed Jennifer Henry-Smith vice president for business development. Henry-Smith will be stationed in LeRoy, N.Y., and manage East Coast pharmaceutical accounts. She directed business development at ACM Medical Laboratory in Rochester, N.Y. Pacific Biometrics provides laboratory services for pharmaceutical and diagnostic manufacturers.

Recent law school graduates Brett Hill, Shane Moloney and Michelle Rosenthal joined the Seattle law firm of Short Cressman & Burgess as associates. Hill will be working in the construction practice section. Moloney will be in employment practice. Rosenthal is assigned to environmental land use and natural resources.
Seattle advertising agency Hydrogen recently won a customer service award from the Better Business Bureau. The bureau's small business of the year competition organizers looked at ethics, community involvement and business practices.
WhiteTie appointed Kevin C. McGlynn chief operating officer to manage direct sales and work on corporate strategy. McGlynn was a construction consultant in Seattle and Anchorage. WhiteTie is a hospitality and philanthropic organization that partners with hotels, arts organizations and restaurants.
Cingular Wireless named Mike Maxwell vice president and general manager of the company's Pacific Northwest market. He will be based in Portland. Maxwell was with AT&T Wireless as vice president of sales in Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho.
