New Edge Networks

New Edge Networks named Robert E. Tomasi Jr. executive vice president. The company provides managed network services for businesses and communications companies. Tomasi will oversee network, engineering and information technology operations. He will be based in Vancouver.

Sedgwick Rd.

Sedgwick Rd. added David Jenkins as executive creative director and senior vice president. Jenkins ran a creative consulting firm and worked on IBM's international e-commerce print campaign. He spent five years at Wieden + Kennedy and was a creative director at DDB Chicago, where he worked on accounts such as State Farm, McDonald's and Clorox. Sedgwick Rd. is located in Seattle's SoDo district and works on brand development, digital services, public relations and media planning.

Washington Auctioneers Association

Merle Booker of Connell-based Booker Auction Co., won the Northwest Auctioneer Championship in Spokane. Booker has been auctioneering for 29 years. Sam Taylor of Tacoma-based Taylor Auctions placed second and Brady Hammrich of Stokes Auction in Port Orchard came in third.

Charles Beck of Charles W. Beck Enterprises in Lacey was elected president of the Washington Auctioneers Association. Other officers chosen include R.L. Heaverlo of Yakima, Chad Ehli of Fife and Steve McMillan of Mount Vernon.

Law firm Preston Gates & Ellis named new partners in its Hong Kong, Portland, Seattle and San Francisco offices.

In Seattle, public finance partner Stacey Crawshaw-Lewis works with public development authorities to finance convention and tourism facilities. Partner Robert J. Dzielak focuses on anti-spam litigation in federal and state court. Julie Anne Halter is a partner in the document analysis technology group. Cynthia Anne Kennedy is a partner in the environmental, land use and natural resources group. Kevin D. Swan is a partner in the intellectual property practice.

R. Gibson Masters is a partner in the real estate practice in Portland. Carol J. McCoog is a partner in the public and tax credit finance practice.

Portland State University

Portland State University named William Prows director of market outreach and development for extended studies. Prows has more than 25 years managing public and community affairs, including work for Qwest in marketing support and economic development.

Insightful Corp.

Seattle-based Insightful Corp., a provider of software for data analysis, named Tom Dieker vice president of North American sales. Dieker was with the SAS Institute and was national sales manager at ABC Technologies. Dieker replaces Greg Johnson who will return to his sales management and consulting practice.

WestCoast Hospitality

Spokane-based WestCoast Hospitality hired Anupam Narayan as executive vice president, chief investment officer. He has nearly 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Narayan will also be appointed chief financial officer, replacing current CFO Peter Hausback, who is leaving the company in January to pursue other opportunities. WestCoast owns, manages and develops WestCoast and Red Lion hotels.

Isilon Systems

Isilon Systems, a Seattle-based provider of storage systems for digital content, named John Briant vice president of manufacturing and operations. Briant will lead worldwide contract manufacturing and supply chain management operations. He has more than 20 years of experience.

Department of Revenue
