Seattle's Foss Maritime made Scott Merritt senior vice president for harbor services and regional towing. Gary Faber is executive vice president for marine transportation and global services. Steve Scalzo is chief operating officer and will look at strategic issues. Tim Brewer is vice president of sales, Toby Holmes is director of pricing and market strategy, Bruce Reed is vice president for administration services and quality assurance, and Shelly Rieger directs marketing and planning. Don McElroy is senior vice president for marine transportation and petroleum. Andy Stevens is vice president for shipyards, engineering and project management. Foss provides harbor services and regional transportation.
The Washington Department of Natural Resources promoted Jack Hulsey. Vicki Christiansen replaces Hulsey as head of operations for the seven regions. Constituent relations manager Margaret Pilaro Barrette has six years' experience as an environmental planner in aquatic resources and will work with trust beneficiaries. Pilaro Barrette replaces Patty Henson as director of communications. Eric Schroff will manage the Pacific Cascade region. He worked for the Canadian Ministry of Forests. Art Tasker will be interim region manager for resource protection and services at South Puget Sound.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a provider of legal services to tech companies, named two new partners in its Seattle office. Barry M. Kaplan and Douglas W. Greene will work on litigation and corporate governance matters. Both were partners at Perkins Coie, where Kaplan led the securities and corporate litigation practice.

EvergreenBank named Robert Jennings vice president and district manager for Seattle, Jessica Wilkie vice president and cash management officer, and Rhonda Brown branch operations supervisor for a branch office to open at 1111 Third Ave. At the company's Eastlake branch, Michael Tibbits is a senior vice president and Dolores Bedner is a commercial loan processor. EvergreenBank is a subsidiary of EvergreenBancorp, a bank holding company headquartered in Seattle.
Wendi Fischer joined America's Foundation for Chess as a national marketing director. She will set up new chapters around the country as part of the organization's goal of bringing chess into second and third grade classrooms.
Bradley B. Furber was appointed executive partner of the Seattle office of Holland & Knight. Furber will also be Northwest regional coordinator for the firm's business law section. He will oversee practice management, marketing and recruiting. Holland & Knight is a law firm with 26 offices in the U.S.
Olympia's Thurston First Bank named Mike Copeland vice president of commercial lending. Copeland has 18 years of banking experience including real estate and income property lending. Breda Cruz is senior loan processor and has 20 years' experience in loan processing for commercial, consumer and real estate clients. Jim Haley was named chief credit officer and has 31 years of experience, including work at U.S. Bank.
