Andy Podolske was named vice president and district manager for Wells Fargo's business banking specialists. Podolske will manage 20 business banking specialists in Wells Fargo stores throughout western Washington.

Wells Fargo private client services named Marilyn Metz senior vice president and Eastside regional manager. Metz will manage 76 team members on the Eastside. Susan Hendrixson is vice president and senior business banking relationship manager for the Seattle area. Hendrixson was senior vice president for Key Bank in Bellevue.

Red Resort

Rossland, B.C.-based Red Resort selected Heather Reimer as director of sales and marketing. Reimer will lead strategic marketing and sales activities for the company's redevelopment efforts. Red is adding 1,400 on-mountain dwelling units and 70,000 square feet of commercial space as part of a 15-year redevelopment plan started by owner Howard Katkov, who purchased Red this past summer. Red Resort is in southeastern British Columbia, 10 minutes north of the Canada/U.S. border in the community of Rossland.

King County

King County Executive Ron Sims named Carolyn Duncan communications director. Duncan has been interim communications director since last December. She was a reporter and anchor at KIRO AM. Sims named Reed Holtgeerts director of the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Holtgeerts has worked in the department for 28 years, most recently as deputy director.

Preston Gates & Ellis

The law firm of Preston Gates & Ellis named Eric Simonson to its corporate securities/mergers and acquisitions practice. Simonson was a partner at Kaye Scholer and Brobeck Phleger & Harrison in New York. Simonson will work out of all of the firm's offices but be based in Seattle.

Whitmont Legal Technologies

Los Angeles-based Whitmont Legal Technologies is expanding its operations in the Pacific Northwest with the relocation of its Seattle office to larger facilities at 1215 Fourth Ave. The office will be the hub of operations in Washington state, supporting additional offices in Tacoma and Bellevue. Michael J. Feeney has been named vice president of On-Site Outsourcing Services. Whitmont Legal is a litigation support services and consulting company.

American Seafoods

Mike Hyde, president and CEO of Seattle-based American Seafoods Co. will resign March 31 but remain involved with the company as a consultant on strategic business and regulatory issues. The company catches and processes pollock and whiting. Inge Andreassen, vice president of operations of American Seafoods since 1996, will replace Hyde as president.

Woodinville Banner Bank

Banner Bank's Woodinville branch added Joseph Scott as vice president and commercial loan officer. Scott will work on getting new business and maintaining commercial loans. He worked at EverTrust Bank/KeyBank. Banner Corp. is the parent company of Banner Bank, a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla that has 49 branch offices in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

United Way of King County

United Way of King County elected 12 to its board of directors. A nominating committee was chaired by University of Washington Assistant Dean Sandra E. Madrid. New board chair is Stephen V. Sundborg, Seattle University president, who replaces James F. Tune, managing principal for Seattle-based law firm Stoel Rives. Retiring directors are Sherrelle Walker, Howard Lincoln.

Westin Seattle

The Westin Seattle will open a new restaurant, Coldwater Bar and Grill, on Feb. 25. The 3,000 square-foot, multi-level space will have a bar and lounge to seat 28 guests, a 75-seat main dining room and a mezzanine with a private dining room and full bar. Westin Seattle is located at 1900 Fifth Ave.
