Greater Spokane

Greater Spokane Inc. announced the winners of the 2007 Agora Awards, recognizing regional businesses that help support the economy and a good quality of life. The Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs won the nonprofit organization category. Angus Meats won the small business category. Walker Construction won the medium business category. Kiemle & Hagood Co. won the large business category. Allsport Honda Polaris won the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. Duanne Grummons of Grummons Orthodontics won the C. Michael Archer Community Service Award and Bill and Judi Williams, the Founders of Telect, won the Business Community Lifetime Achievement Award.

Port of Tacoma

The Port of Tacoma promoted Brian Mannelly to manager of terminal planning. Mannelly joined the Port in 2005 as a planning specialist and was previously employed by Vanasse Hangen Brustlin of Boston.

CTED

The Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development hired Karl da Gama Campos as program manager in the International Trade and Economic Development Division. da Gama Campos has 15 years experience in international sales, with particular focus on Asia and Europe. He was recently at Glyph Language Services. da Gama Campos replaces Wistar Kay in the post.

Summit Law Group hired Jaime Evans to its Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Evans has worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in Palo Alto, Calif., and in the Seattle office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

HaloSource

HaloSource, an antimicrobial and clean technology solutions company, hired Andrew Clews as vice president of marketing and business development. Clews was senior manager of global brands for Alticor.

Washington Research Council

The Washington Research Council selected Alan C. Ralston as president. Ralston will replace Richard S. Davis who became vice president of communications for the Association of Washington Business. Ralston has served as a public affairs advisor to Boeing senior leadership for 20 years and is the northwest regional director of government relations for Boeing. The Washington Research Council examines how public policy issues will affect business, government and the community, and conducts extensive research on such policies.

DocuSign of Seattle, a Web-based electronic signature service, hired Bob DeSantis as vice president of sales. DeSantis has 20 years of sales experience in the technology industry and was regional vice president of sales at Procuri.

Minority and Women Business Enterprises

Gov. Chris Gregoire appointed Cynthia Cooper of Columbus, Ohio, as director of the Washington Office of Minority and Women Business Enterprises. Cooper was the diversity and ethics manager at Wendy's International where she developed diversity training for more than 20 Wendy's suppliers.

Marten Law Group

Marten Law Group, a Seattle environmental law firm, is expanding by opening an office in Portland and hiring Aaron Courtney. Courtney was with Perkins Coie. Marten Law Group also plans to hire two new lawyers in the fall.
