Bellevue-based Talyst, a pharmacy automation company, hired Greg Weaver as chief financial officer. Weaver worked at Sirna Therapeutics.
HomeStreet Bank promoted Andy Bembry to loan officer within the Seattle construction branch. Bembry has been with HomeStreet for more than three years, where his primary focus has been supporting the production of loan officers in the branch through financial and market analysis.
John C. Gardner, vice president of research and economic development for the University of Missouri system, will become vice president for economic development and extension for Washington State University. Gardner will be based in Seattle.
The city of Newcastle hired Steve Roberge as its planning manager. Roberge worked at the city of Marysville as a senior planner.

The Harold E. LeMay Museum in Tacoma hired Dominic Dobson as director of corporate development. Dobson has served on the steering committee for two years, is the founder of Motion Research Corp. and spent 20 years competing in motor sports events as a driver with success at Sebring, Le Mans, Daytona and Indianapolis. He has served as vice president/general manager for PacWest Racing Group and has created and managed various successful race teams. The LeMay Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the LeMay collection of automobiles and memorabilia. It is the largest privately held car collection in the world, according to the Guiness Book of World Records.
Turbine Services announced the addition of a Western Regional Office, headquartered in Southern California. The new office will be managed by Bruce Perry with Lew Archer providing generation sales. Turbine Services is a division of North American Energy Services Co., a broad-based provider of services to the power generation industry that is headquartered in Issaquah.
The Professional Insurance Agents of Washington/Alaska elected new board members. Rich Biggs of Biggs Insurance Agency in Vancouver is president. Mark Balcos of Balcos Insurance in Seattle is president elect. David Babbitt of Babbitt Insurance Group in Enumclaw is vice president. Barbara Kaiser of Sunset Insurance Agency in Olympia is treasurer.

Alderbrook Resort & Spa named Marty McCormack director of sales. He has been sales manager at Alderbrook, responsible for corporate group business. McCormack previously worked for Marriott and the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle. Alderbrook is on Hood Canal.
SafeHarbor Technology Corp. won a Stevie Award for Best Overall Company at the 2007 American Business Awards. The national awards honor business performance. SafeHarbor focuses on improving self-service information so customers can answer questions via the Web instead of placing a customer service call.
Paccar named Jack LeVier named vice president of human resources. He has more than 20 years of experience in the United States and Asia. LeVier was a chief people officer at Yum! Brands and also worked at Mobil Corp. Paccar designs and builds commercial vehicles, and also provides financial services, information technology and aftermarket support.
The Port of Tacoma hired Scott Hooton as environmental program manager to lead the port's remediation unit in the Environmental Department. He manages the team responsible for cleaning up contaminated properties and conducting due diligence for the port's industrial real estate staff. Before joining the port, Hooton worked as environmental program manager for BP Oil in Renton.
