Lane Powell in Seattle hired Tara Gillespie as an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation Group. Gillespie was with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz. Lane Powell has more than 180 attorneys in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and London.
Randy Aliment has been appointed chairman of the board of governors at City University of Seattle. Aliment is a senior partner in the Seattle office of Williams Kastner, a Northwest law firm, and served as legal counsel for City University from 2000 to 2006 when he was appointed to the board.
Seattle-based employment referral service company Another Source hired Ana Gonzales as a talent strategist and Tracy Russell as business development manager. Gonzales was with Lakeside Capitol Management. Russell has 20 years of experience in the industry.
The King County Bar Association awarded the William L. Dwyer Outstanding Jurist Award to Senior Circuit Judge Betty Binns Fletcher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. It is the association's highest honor for a member of the bench and recognizes lifetime achievement. Fletcher has an office in Seattle.
Seattle-based biopharmaceutical company Cell Therapeutics hired Dr. Jay Umbreit as medical director of the XYOTAX/CT-2103 program in the Clinical Department. Umbreit has been a professor at University of South Alabama and Emory University in Atlanta. XYOTAX is a chemotherapeutic drug candidate for treating lung and ovarian cancers in women.

Wells Fargo hired Susan Kernes as community relations manager for Wells Fargo in Washington. Kernes worked in Alaska as manager for Wells Fargo's community relations.
Ekos Corp. in Bothell hired Robert W. Hubert as president and chief executive officer. Hubert has 20 years experience and last worked with the heart valve division of Medtronic Corp. Ekos specializes in ultrasound-facilitated drug delivery.
Marsh, an insurance broker and risk advisor, hired David J. Liston as head of its New York office and Cindy Zemann as office head in Seattle. Liston had been office head for Marsh in Seattle and leader of the firm's Washington operations. Zemann, who succeeds Liston, has been with Marsh in Seattle for 21 years. Marsh has 26,000 employees.
