Seattle-Northwest Securities, an investment banking firm, hired Richard A. Schober Jr. as senior vice president of public finance. Schober was a vice president at Goldman Sachs where he worked with the Port of Seattle and the Port of Tacoma, and served as financial advisor on the first Sound Transit bond issue.

Tulalip Resort Casino

Tulalip Resort Casino hired Troy Longwith as director of sales. Longwith was vice president of Conference Direct on the Microsoft campus in Redmond.

Kirlin Foundation

The Kirlin Foundation named Raj Manhas executive director of the Seeds of Compassion initiative. Manhas is the former Seattle Public Schools superintendent. Seeds of Compassion is a grassroots initiative bringing together brain research and visionary thinking. The Kirlin Foundation helps children and their families become members of global society.

Tacoma Power

Tacoma Power's Transmission and Distribution Manager Gary Armfield will be superintendent from Nov. 1 until he retires in about 18 months. He succeeds current superintendent Bill Gaines who will take on the role of Tacoma Public Utilities director Nov. 1. Armfield has been interim superintendent since April.
