DeVry University

DeVry University has moved its Bellevue location to 600 108th Ave. N.E. This gives DeVry about 5,400 square feet of space, including a bigger lounge/vending area, and an informational center and computer lab.

WSDOT Freight Systems Division

The Washington State Department of Transportation has completed hiring for its Freight Systems Division. Dale A. Tabat is truck program and policy manager. Tabat will also serve as the division's liaison with the Washington Trucking Association and legislative staff. George Xu is planning and strategic assessment manager. Vickie Sheehan is the passenger rail and freight communications manager. The new employees join Scott Witt and Andew Wood. WSDOT's Freight Systems Division directs strategy and policy for the state's three freight systems of international and national trade flows, state's manufacturers and farmers, and distribution of retail and wholesale products.

Zumobi

Seattle-based Zumobi hired Pat Binkley as vice president of engineering. Binkley has 15 years experience in software development and was with Modiv Media. Zumobi, formerly ZenZui, is a mobile phone browsing company.

Calidora Skin Clinic

Calidora Skin Clinic, a skin care treatment center, hired Megan Bassetti as vice president of marketing. Bassetti has 14 years experience and has worked with brands like Pepsi, Microsoft and McDonalds. Calidora has four Pacific Northwest locations in downtown Seattle, University Village, Redmond and Bellevue, and one in California.

Critical Junctures Institute

Western Washington University and St. Joseph Hospital are forming and funding the Critical Junctures Institute, a center focused on community health and outreach. It will have an office in the former Port of Bellingham headquarters building on Cornwall Avenue. Jay Teachman, sociology professor at WWU, and Marc Pierson, vice president of medical affairs and clinical information at St. Joseph Hospital, are the associate directors. Chris Phillips, also of the hospital staff, will serve as the interim director until a permanent director is hired. He will then be community liaison for the institute.

Aequitas Capital Management

Aequitas Capital Management, an alternative investment firm based in Lake Oswego, Ore., has committed $5.2 million in equity to Rose's Restaurant and Bakery to support the planned expansion of the Portland chain to 20 locations in the next five to six years. Rose's was first established in 1956.

First Sound Bank

Seattle-based First Sound Bank hired Debbie Johnson, Dan Meuli and Jeff Wilson. Johnson is a construction loan administrator and has 18 years experience as an escrow and loan production officer. Meuli is senior operations service specialist and has nine years of experience in banking. Wilson is IT manager and has 17 years of experience in information technology.

EED

Kirkland-based EED, an electronic discovery software and services provider, hired Skip Lindsey as western region vice president of sales. Lindsey worked at Iron Mountain and has also worked for Divine and Mobius.

Intiman Theatre

The Intiman Theatre in Seattle hired Sheila Daniels as associate director. Daniels has been a director, actor and teacher in Seattle since 1994. She is co-artistic director and co-founder of both Theatre Under Ground and Baba Yaga Productions. She will direct “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams in the 2008 season at Intiman.
