The Association of Washington Business said the Spady Family, which founded and owns Dick's Drive-In Restaurants, won AWB's 2008 Bruce Briggs Community Service Award. AWB President Don Brunell said founder Dick Spady, son Jim Spady and Jim's wife, Fawn Spady, are the “very definition of community service.”
Federal Way-based Weyerhaeuser Co. promoted Kevin Shearer to vice president, information technology and chief information officer. Shearer has been vice president, IT business operations since 2007 and joined Weyerhaeuser in 1980. He succeeds Susan M. Mersereau who is retiring.
The Seattle office of law firm Davis Wright Tremaine hired James C. Grant. Grant was chief litigation counsel at AT&T Wireless Services and has 22 years experience working with clients in the communications and technology industries.

Shoreline Community College hired Daryl J. Campbell as vice president for administrative services. Campbell is vice president for finance and administration at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt. He succeeds Stuart Trippel who has served as acting vice president for administrative services since September 2006.
Seattle law firm Riddell Williams hired Kyle Branum. He will focus on real estate and business, and was a partner at Perkins Coie.
Law firm Foster Pepper said Deborah Crabbe, a member of its Creditor's Rights and Bankruptcy Group, has been appointed co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute's Business Reorganization Committee. The ABI has 11,500 members nationally.

Ellen M. Sas has joined Seattle Savings Bank as president and chief executive officer. Sas was formerly president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board at Northstar Financial Corp., a bank holding company headquartered in Seattle before it was sold to Frontier Bank in 2006. In 2005 she was named one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” by U.S. Banker magazine. Sas has been a consultant to the public accounting firm of Knight, Vale & Gregory.
Puget Sound Blood Center trustees named James P. AuBuchon, MD, to succeed Richard B. Counts, MD, as president and CEO. AuBuchon will begin his tenure Sept. 1. Counts retires Aug. 31 after 35 years at the blood center. AuBuchon is chair of pathology at Dartmouth-Medical School in New Hampshire.
Everett Community College hired John Bonner as its first executive director for corporate training. Bonner will lead the Continuing Education division, which includes customized training for business and industry, corporate training, lifelong learning and the College in the High School program. He worked at Shoreline Community College and the University of Washington.
Bellevue-based InfoSpace promoted Michael Glover to vice president, business development, responsible for strategic partner strategy. He has 14 years of business development, sales and marketing experience, and was director of marketing at Uniglobe.com before joining Infospace.
