Hitachi Consulting in Seattle hired Elizabeth Vitt as a senior manager in its Business Intelligence and Performance Management Practice, which provides customers with solutions and insights to make better decisions faster. Vitt has 14 years of experience integrating technology with data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
Richland's Carol Moser has been elected to chair the Washington State Transportation Commission. Member Bob Distler, who is from the San Juan Islands, will serve as vice chair. Commission members elect new officers every year. Moser has been a member of the commission since 2006 and served for 10 years on the Richland City Council.
Clark Nuber, a CPA firm in Bellevue, received the Best Company to Work For award in the midsize companies category for 2009 presented by Seattle Business magazine. The award is the result of employees filling out an anonymous, extensive questionnaire that graded the firm based on criteria such as leadership, communications, training and benefits.
The Port of Olympia hired Rick Anderson as director of the engineering department. Anderson was previously acting director of engineering and joined the port in 2007.

Lovsted- Worthington hired Susan Knobeloch as director of personal lines operations. Knobeloch was a principal and manager of personal lines departments for more than 29 years. She was past president of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Washington, past president of the Tacoma Pierce County Insurance Professionals, served on the National Council of Kemper and has served on councils for Safeco, Fireman's Fund and Insurance Commissioner for Washington.
The Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure hired Cheryl Shaw as executive director. Shaw has been working with outgoing executive director Mona Locke during the transition. Locke will be joining her husband, Gary Locke, who is now secretary of commerce in Washington, D. C. Shaw was with the United Negro College Fund.
The Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas' hired Kumani Gantt as executive director following a national search. Gantt has been the executive and artistic director of The Village of Arts and Humanities in North Philadelphia. She succeeds founder Stephanie Ellis-Smith who held the post for a decade.

Lane Powell hired Filmore Rose as counsel to the firm in the Trusts and Estates Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on tax, estate planning and tax-exempt organizations. He has 40 years experience in the legal profession and has worked for law firms in San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., and Santa Fe.
Seattle's Bell Harbor International Conference Center hired Gregory Roper as its new associate director of sales and promoted Kelly Saling from sales manager to senior sales manager. Roper has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has worked with Crowne Plaza Seattle, Bellevue Hilton and several Four Seasons. Saling has been with Columbia Hospitality for five years and most recently worked as sales manager at Bell Harbor World Trade Center Seattle.
PubliCola, an online Seattle news site, said Rajeev Singh, president and COO of Redmond-based high tech firm Concur, has purchased a stake in the five-month-old effort. Singh joins Seattle developer Greg Smith, who joined the ownership group on June 1, as a minority stakeholder. PubliCola, founded by Josh Feit and Sandeep Kaushik, launched in January.
