Seattle's Convention and Visitors Bureau

Sullivan

Seattle's Convention and Visitors Bureau said Shannon Sheron and Christopher Sullivan are now members of its board of directors, joining 27 other business leaders on the board. Sheron is general manager at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue. Sullivan is general manager of Seattle's Marriott Waterfront hotel.

Summit Law Group hired two new attorneys: Michael Bolasina and Scott Osborne. Bolasina joins as a member of the Labor/Employment Practice Group. Osborne is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Summit provides employment, labor, corporate, real estate and environmental legal advice.

Washington State Bar Association

The Washington State Bar Association said Seattle attorney Michele Radosevich is the 2011–2012 president-elect. She will start her one-year term at the end of September. Radosevich is a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, where she has worked in the commercial litigation department since 1995. Her focus is on state and local tax litigation. She replaces President-Elect Stephen Crossland.

Seattle Arts Commission

Mayor Mike McGinn appointed Gian-Carlo Scandiuzzi to a two-year term on the citizen-advisory Seattle Arts Commission. Scandiuzzi has been executive director of ACT — A Contemporary Theatre since 2008. Scandiuzzi is filling Carol Munro's expired term on the commission. Munro serves on Cornish College board of trustees.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt hired Joseph Straus as a shareholder in the construction and commercial litigation practices and Jeremy Vermilyea, another construction attorney, in its Portland office. Both attorneys worked at the same regional firm prior to joining Schwabe. Straus has 30 years of experience

Washington State Bar Association

The Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors have announced 2011 award winners. K&L Gates attorneys Thomas Kelly and Joanne Hepburn, are recipients of the WSBA Pro Bono Award. Colleen Kinerk, a partner at the firm of Cable, Langenback, Kinerk & Bauer received the Norm Maleng Leadership Award. Kelly and Hepburn are being honored for their representation of Larry Bill Elliott in his state habeas proceedings and then in his federal habeas proceedings, from 2004–2009.

Northwest law firm Foster Pepper named Greg Clark chair of the Construction Industry Practice Group. Clark is a construction litigator and spent two decades as a contractor earlier in his career.

NW Protective

NW Protective hired Brian Ditmore as business development manager. Ditmore has 30 years of experience in the building services industry. Since 1940, NW Protective has been providing security services to firms in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Yakima and Portland.

Medio Systems

Medio Systems of Seattle, a mobile Internet software and predictive analytics provider, hired Prabuddha Biswas as senior vice president, engineering. Biswas has 25 years of engineering and research experience, and was recently a director at VMware.

University of Idaho

The University of Idaho hired Ronald Smith as vice president for finance and administration. Smith is vice president for finance and business affairs at Seattle University and takes the Idaho post on July 1. Before his tenure in Seattle, Smith was vice president for administrative services at Lewis-Clark College in Lewiston.
