Harborstone Credit Union hired Laurie Leno as chief financial officer. Leno spent a decade as CFO for Prevail Credit Union, where she worked for 25 years.
GA Creative in Bellevue, an integrated branding and advertising agency, has rehired Linda Ryall to its strategy and content team. Ryall worked with the agency on and off for more than 10 years, and is familiar with the client base. She is a strategist and writer.
Magner Sanborn, an advertising, brand design and marketing communications firm in Spokane, hired Jeff Akiyama to its media planning team. Akiyama worked at Quisenberry Marketing and Design where he was also responsible for planning and buying media for clients.

Nyhus Communications, a Seattle-based communications and advocacy firm, hired Bill Stafford as a senior counselor. Stafford is founder and president of the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle and an expert in international trade and business relations. He will advise clients on international trade and investment issues.
Western Washington University in Bellingham and Aramark have signed a contract making Aramark Higher Education the new vendor for dining services. The partnership will be focused on sustainability, nutrition, local partnerships and student involvement. The 10-year contract begins Sept. 1. Aramark will provide dining services at residential dining halls, catering, and retail cafes and markets.
Chris Bias and Barb Smith opened A Dog's Life Doggy Daycare and You-Bathe at 4801 Rainier Ave. S. to cater to busy pet owners. A Dog's Life has daycare, bathing space and separately managed grooming and retail establishments. It is in a 10,000-square-foot building with a 1,500-square-foot outdoor play area.

Cedarbrook Lodge hired Scott Ostrander as general manager. Ostrander has 20 years of management experience in travel, tourism and hospitality. He was general manager of Millennium Resort Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Bothell-based SonoSite, a specialist in bedside and point-of-care ultrasound, hired Jack Sparacio as chief operating officer and Matthew Damron as global chief marketing officer. Sparacio has 30 years of experience in health care and was president, CEO and owner of Plastic Engineering and Development Co. Damron worked at TBWA/Chiat/Day, a communications agency.
Debra Friedman is the new chancellor of the University of Washington Tacoma. Friedman was vice president of Arizona State University and chief administrator of the downtown Phoenix campus, serving more than 8,000 students. Friedman is the UW Tacoma's fourth chancellor and follows Patricia Spakes, who is retiring after six years with the university.
