Kitsap Conference Center

Millsap

The Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton hired Ken Millsap as general manager. Millsap has 30 years of hospitality experience and will oversee daily operations for the 10,000-square-foot event space. Millsap was general manager for food, beverage and catering at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Tacoma.

Starbucks Coffee

Starbucks Coffee said Paula Boggs will retire as general counsel and secretary on April 2 to join President Barack Obama's reelection campaign, based in Seattle and Santa Fe. Boggs was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions, which focuses on youth unemployment. Boggs has led Starbucks' Law & Corporate Affairs Department for nearly a decade. Starbucks is searching for her replacement.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker a Seattle-based law firm specializing in construction, government contracts and public procurement, hired Brandon Young as an associate attorney. Young was an aide for the campaign of Ron Galperin for Los Angeles City Council.

Ashbaugh Beal

Ashbaugh Beal hired Michael Richard as an associate. Richard is a 2011 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law.

Sound Physicians

Tacoma-based Sound Physicians, a hospitalist organization, hired Michael Radzienda as chief medical officer for the Midwest. Radzienda will also serve Sound Physicians' Northeast region practices. Radzienda will provide regional organizational leadership. He was vice president for hospital medicine and clinical effectiveness at Vanguard Health Systems.

Seattle School Board

The Seattle Public Schools board of directors elected new officers for 2012. Michael DeBell is president, Kay Smith-Blum is vice president and Betty Patu is member at large. Votes were unanimous. Officers are elected for one-year terms and serve as the executive committee of the board.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

The Seattle office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt added four attorneys: Troy Greenfield, Larry Ream, Rick Birinyi and Connie Sue Martin. Judith Whitehouse has also joined Schwabe and will maintain an office in Santa Rosa, Calif. All were formerly with Bullivant Houser Bailey.

Foster Pepper

Foster Pepper hired Kerry Robinson as professional development counsel. Robinson was a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, a member of Microsoft's legal compliance team and a supervising attorney for the Housing Justice Project in Kent.

Point B

Seattle-based Point B, a national management consulting firm, said Patrick Maher has joined the firm and will establish a Healthcare Strategy Practice. Maher has 20 years of experience in health care management and was a principal in the Financial and Health Services Group of Booz & Co. in New York.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology

The Lake Washington Institute of Technology's board of trustees has unanimously chosen Dr. David Woodall the school's new president. Woodall has served as the state-run polytechnic institution's interim president since January when Dr. Sharon McGavick retired. This completes a year-long process that involved students, employees and community members.
