Allyis, a Kirkland-based technology consulting firm, promoted Jason Herman to CEO. Current CEO and company co-founder Richard Law will remain chairman of the board. Ethan Yarbrough, current president and company co-founder, will remain vice chairman of the board. Herman has been with the company for 10 years.
Seattle-baaed Hydrogen Advertising made a series of new hires. Scott Schmehl is senior art director; Lauren Meadows-Rose is media manager; and Mark Tomas is production manager. Schmehl has worked with T-Mobile, Starbucks and Microsoft. Meadows-Rose worked with Copacino + Fujikado, OMD and LCI. Tomas worked at the Hacker Group and Inland Printing.
Bothell-based Brooks Sports will open its first Asian subsidiary: Brooks Sports K. K. in Japan. It will partner with Custom Produce. Brooks says Japan is the world's second largest running market.

Columbia Bank hired Chris Avey as senior financial advisor with CB Financial Services at the bank's Walla Walla branch. Avey worked at Baker Boyer Bank as the director of investor services and then started The Avey Group Wealth Management, a financial consulting firm.
Crowley Maritime Corp.'s solutions group and PB Towage, part of the Pacific Basin Shipping group, formed a business alliance to broaden their capabilities in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The alliance will enable the companies to provide project management, cargo transportation, logistics, ocean towing, offshore support, salvage support and bulk cargo transportation solutions to oil and gas, mining, and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) customers undertaking major infrastructure projects in that region.
Amazon.com announced winners of the Amazon Studios best test movie and best script Annual Awards. Amazon Studios is an online movie development process that invited filmmakers and screenwriters around the world to submit full-length test movies and scripts to make money, get discovered and get their movie made. “12 Princesses,” written and directed by Rob Gardner, won for best test movie of the year and will be awarded $1 million. “Origin of a Species,” written by Matthew Gossett, won the $100,000 best script prize.

Banner Bank hired Sean Haugh to manage the Bellevue branch at 12443 Bel-Red Road. Haugh has 10 years of experience in the banking industry and was recently vice president/branch manager for KeyBank.
Redmond-based Physio-Control, a provider of products for treating cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies, has been sold to an affiliate of Bain Capital. Brian Webster, formerly president, has been named chief executive officer of the company. The company was previously owned by Medtronic.
B.E. Meyers & Co. of Redmond promoted Dr. Gregory Quarles to chief executive officer. Quarles was president and chief operating officer. Current CEO and founder Brad Meyers remains active n the company and will assume the new role of CEO emeritus. Quarles joined B.E. Meyers in May of 2010.
