Bert Markovich, a shareholder in the Seattle law office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently joined the board of Choices Education Group, a Seattle-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering students to increase career and life opportunities.


LeMay — America's Car Museum hired Paul Miller as chief operating officer and LeAna Reising as sales manager. The 165,000-square-foot museum opens in June. Miller was managing general partner of Miller Investment Partnership, an asset holding and management firm, and is a licensed commercial broker. Reising was outside sales director for Pacific Grill Events and Catering.
Officials from Providence Health & Services and Swedish Health Services said their affiliation is official. Swedish joins Providence's Northwest and Southwest Washington operations to create a new organization serving the greater Puget Sound area.

Wayne Morter is power operations and marketing director for Seattle City Light. Morter worked at the Lower Colorado River Authority, a power provider for 43 public utilities based in Austin, Texas. He has also worked for Austin Energy, the city of Richmond, Va., and Texaco.

Law firm Davis Wright Tremaine hired three associate attorneys in the Bellevue office. They are Peter Finch, Justin Dolan and Kate Tylee. Finch spent 14 years with the National Labor Relations Board in St. Louis and Seattle. Dolan spent three years as a visiting professor of legal writing at Seattle University. Tylee spent three years as an associate at Patterson Buchanan Fobes Leitch & Kalzer.
Your Wedding Story opened a wedding business in the Roosevelt neighborhood at 6017 Roosevelt Way N.E. It offers planning resources for brides such as videos, demos, product displays and workshops, and specializes in weddings in Hawaii, Costa Rica and Mexico. Owner Tammy McGowan has 20 years of experience.
The Seattle Aquarium hired Jim Wharton as director of conservation and education. Whartom worked at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Fla., as vice president of education.
REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.), is opening a store in San Antonio this fall and Jacksonville, Fla., in the spring of 2013. The San Antonio store will occupy 27,500 square-feet at Huebner Oaks. The Jacksonville store will be 23,400 square feet in The Markets at Town Center. REI operates 122 stores in 29 states.
