Seattle-based GreenRubino hired Melissa Durfee Davis as media director. Davis was media director at DNA Seattle for 10 years, and also worked at Cole & Weber and Borders Perrin Norrander's Seattle office. GreenRubino is a communications and marketing firm founded in 1977.
Seattle-based Fearey Group hired Nandi Thorn as account supervisor and Rosalind Brazel as account coordinator. Thorn worked at Waggener Edstrom. Brazel worked at KIRO-7. Fearey is an independent public relations and affairs firm.


Seattle-based law firm Foster Pepper hired Lee Marchisio and Rylan Weythman as associates in its Seattle office. Marchisio practices municipal government and previously worked for the governor's office. Weythman practies litigation and dispute resolution.

Walla Walla-based Banner bank hired Pino Sengsavang as vice president and branch manager at its new Madison Street branch in Seattle. Sengsavang was branch manager for Key Bank for seven years. He began his banking career in 1999 with US Bank in Seattle. Banner Bank operates 89 branch offices and seven loan offices in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
Jennifer Joly has been named head of government relations for Pierce County, succeeding George Walk who retired in June after 22 years. Joly was transportation policy advisor, legislative director and general counsel to Governor Gary Locke, and was counsel to the state House of Representatives and chair of the state Public Disclosure Commission.
Texas-based Alteris Insurance Services said it has acquired Seattle-based Mattei Insurance Services. Alteris is a member of Argo Group International Holdings.

Stephen Sulkin will retire as professor and director of Western Washington University's Shannon Point Marine Center in the summer of 2013. Sulkin has served in a variety of positions including U.S. editor of the journal Estuarine Coast and Shelf Sciences, and president of the Western Association of Marine Laboratories. Sulkin has been director at the center since 1985.
Seattle-based REI promoted Brian Unmacht to chief operating officer. Unmacht joined REI in 1986 as store supervisor, and was named executive vice president of sales, service store development and logistics in 2008.
Seattle-based Big Fish Games hired Chris Williams as vice president and general manager of Free-to-Play. Williams served as vice president of products and strategy for PlayFirst. Big Fish Games is a provider of internet media delivery software and game services.
