CliftonLarsonAllen hired Alicia Schmidt as a new partner in the Seattle office. Headquartered in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, CliftonLarsonAllen is a certified public accounting and consulting firm with offices nationwide.
Kirkland-based Heathman Hotel hired Troy Longwith as general manager. Longwith was acting vice president, director of sales and hotel marketing and general manager for Tulalip Resort Casino.
Liberty Lake-based Itron appointed Philip Mezey as president and chief executive officer, succeeding LeRoy Nosbaum effective Jan. 1, 2013. Mezey became president and chief operating officer for Itron's global energy segment in March 2011 and has held various positions within the company. John Holleran was named executive vice president and chief operating officer for global energy and water segments. Itron is a global technology company.

Seattle law firm Helsell Fetterman hired Michael Spence and Karen Kalzer. Spence has more than 25 years of real estate and land use experience. Kalzer has practiced education and employment law for more than 15 years.
The Washington State Bar Association's World Peace Through Law Section announced it will give awards to Seattle attorney Julia Bolz and professor Ronald Slye of Seattle University School of Law on Dec. 12 in the Century Square Plaza Alki Room. The event is open to the public. Bolz is a humanitarian and social justice activist who has worked on poverty, discrimination, human rights and other political challenges. Slye teaches, writes and consults on international criminal law and transitional justice.
Edward Sullivan, an owner of the Portland law firm Garvey Schubert Barer, was elected as 9th circuit regional vice president for the International Municipal Lawyers Association. The nonprofit advances the interests and education of local government lawyers.
