Southworth Co. of Agawam, Mass., a paper manufacturer for more than 170 years, has acquired The Madison Park Group of Seattle. Madison Park Group and its employees will remain headquartered in Seattle and retain the name and business model with co-presidents Brian Jacobsen and Glen Biely. Madison Park Group started as a specialty greeting card company, and now also makes personal accessories, gifts and party goods.
Alaska's Denali National Park announced the retirement of Claire Curtis. Curtis has been with the park for 30 years, starting out as an entry-level employee at the check-in station at Savage Campground. Her current position is head of the visitor center.

The Bellevue Downtown Association promoted Patrick Bannon to president. Bannon joined the association in 2005 as communications manager and most recently was vice president of communications and public affairs. Bannon succeeds Leslie Lloyd, who recently accepted a position as executive director for the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth. The BDA is a nonprofit focused on downtown leadership, advocacy and promotion.

Charles Staadecker, representing Bainbridge Island, Seattle and Vashon Island, was elected chair of the Puget Sound Educational Service District Board of Directors. Staadecker joined the board in 2008 and represents approximately 280,500 residents in his director district. The district is one of nine regional agencies serving school districts and state-approved private schools in Washington.
Kenworth employees donated 7,500 pounds of food to Northwest Harvest. Kirkland-based Kenworth makes heavy and medium duty trucks and provides fuel-saving technology solutions.

Kirkland-based AAOA Healthcare won the Family Business Best Practices Award from Seattle Business magazine. AAOA Healthcare was founded in 2002 by Pat Chestnut, president and CEO. AAOA Healthcare provides employee benefit services to small and mid-size employers.
Red Lion Hotels is opening a franchise in Cathedral City, Calif., at 69151 E. Palm Canyon Dr. The new hotel has 97 rooms and is managed by Sang Chae and Connie Chae of WR Management Co. in Bellevue. Red Lion Hotels owns, operates and franchises hotels.
Edmonds-based Terwedo Financial Services hired Michael Richardson as business development coordinator. Terwedo is a financial planning and wealth management company.
