Jones ran an executive coaching and technical consulting business in Florida and also worked with The Energy Authority in Florida and Bellevue. Jim Baggs has worked as interim power supply and environmental affairs officer.

Denison Yacht Sales

Denison Yacht Sales of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has opened a new office in Boatworld Marina on Lake Union led by Brad Pilz, who has more than 20 years of experience. It will offer brokerage and new boat sales, with an emphasis on Beneteau GT, Pirelli Yacht Tenders and Austin Parker. Denison also operates in California, Michigan and Mexico.

Association of Washington Business

The Association of Washington Business named Kristofer T. Johnson president of the Olympia-based business organization. He will succeed Don Brunell, who is retiring at the end of the year after 28 years. Johnson has more than 15 years of chamber experience and joined AWB in 2010 as vice president of operations.

Expeditors International

Peter J. Rose, chairman and CEO of Expeditors International of Washington, will retire as CEO in March of 2014, but remain as chairman to assist the incoming CEO. Rose has been at Expeditors for 32 years and CEO for 25 years. The Seattle-based logistics company has revenues of nearly $6 billion and 13,000 employees worldwide.

Keeney's Office Supply & Interiors

Keeney's Office Supply & Office Interiors was named Small Business of the Year by King County Executive Dow Constantine. About 130 companies were nominated by chambers of commerce, cities and business organizations. Lisa Keeney McCarthy is the second generation of her family to lead the business, which was founded by her father in 1947.

Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce

The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce announced board chairs through 2016. Gary S. Kaplan, MD, chairman and CEO at Virginia Mason Medical Center, is the chair for 2013/2014. Steve Crown, vice president and deputy general counsel at Microsoft, is incoming chair for 2014/15. John Schoettler, director global real estate and facilities at Amazon, is incoming chair for 2015/16.

Swedish Medical Center

Swedish Health Services named Anthony (Tony) A. Armada as chief executive officer, beginning Nov. 1. He is president of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital near Chicago, and was president and CEO of Henry Ford Hospital and Health Network in Detroit. Marcel Loh has been interim CEO since Kevin Brown was named chief executive of Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta.

Immune Design

Immune Design, a Seattle biotechnology company focused on developing immune-based therapies for cancer and other conditions, named Jan Henrik ter Meulen as chief scientific officer. He will be responsible for research strategy, capabilities and discovery platforms.
