Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker said attorneys Shaun C. Kennedy, Michael J. Schmidt and Sean P. Dowell recently joined the Seattle office. Kennedy joins the Government Contracts, Construction and Commercial Litigation teams. Schmidt's practice focuses on government and commercial contracts, insurance and litigation, and he worked for a multinational defense contractor. Dowell is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction and a recent graduate of Seattle University School of Law. He worked as a construction project manager.
Mutual Materials, a manufacturer of masonry and hardscape products, won a 2015 Family Business Award from Seattle Business magazine. Mutual Materials was a Silver winner in the large company category. The award was accepted by President Kendall Anderegg. Mutual Materials was founded in 1900 by Daniel Houlahan following the Great Seattle Fire of 1889, and is owned and operated by the fifth generation of the family. It employs 440 people, with 10 manufacturing facilities and 16 retail branches in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia.

Christopher Algeo has been named Washington business acquisition manager for Wells Fargo. He is based in Tacoma and oversees five business development officers in Washington. He was senior relationship manager with Key Bank.
Signostics, a Kirkland start-up in highly miniaturized ultrasound technology, named Jeffrey Markwood chief financial officer and vice president of administration. Markwood has more than 25 years of senior and executive-level accounting and financial management experience, and was with SonoSite.

Propel Insurance added Carl Swan to the national senior living practice as a sales executive. He has experience with long term care communities and insurance. Seattle-based Propel provides an array of insurance in North America.

Craig Sims, former chief of the criminal division for Seattle City Attorney's Office, has joined the law firm of Bergman Draper Ladenburg. Sims will represent families in mesothelioma cases. He has worked in private practice and with King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Jessica Mason is the new psychologist and counselor in the student affairs office at Washington State University Spokane, replacing Jack Severinghaus, who has retired. Mason was a counselor at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Visit Seattle named Samantha Shaw director of business development. Shaw was sales manager for meetings and special events at Snohomish County Tourism Bureau, and worked on national sales in the events industry. Visit Seattle is Seattle/King County's marketing organization.
Top Gun Ventures, a retained executive search firm, named Ralph Young partner and executive in charge of the West Coast Search Practice. He has worked at Microsoft as well as in consulting and coaching. Top Gun Ventures has offices in Dallas, Austin, Boston, Palo Alto, Seattle and St. Louis.
Vishay Precision Group of Malvern, Pennsylvania, a producer of precision sensors and systems, will acquire Stress-Tek, Inc. of Kent. Stress-Tek is a designer and manufacturer of sensors and display systems used in transportation, timber, refuse, aggregate and mining.
