Laura Martin-Fedich has been named vice president for enrollment at University of Puget Sound, starting Jan. 17. She now works at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, as vice president for enrollment, and dean of admissions and financial aid.
REI hired Raquel Karls as senior vice president of human resources. She was chief human resources officer at Outerwall and has also worked at Starbucks, Expedia and Pepsi. The nation's largest consumer co-op has more than 6 million active members and 149 stores in 36 states.

Wells Fargo Insurance, part of Wells Fargo & Co., named Mike Taylor senior vice president and managing director for Washington and Alaska. Taylor will focus on middle market and large corporate customers, and be based in Seattle. He began his insurance career at Willis, and worked for Wells Fargo as managing director in Phoenix.
Washington State Hospital Association has hired Chris Bandoli as senior vice president for policy and advocacy. Bandoli has been with Regence BlueShield since 2007, serving as director of government affairs for five years. He replaces Cassie Sauer, who will become president and CEO in January, replacing Scott Bond, who retires at the end of year. WSHA represents more than 100 hospitals and health systems.

Veris Law Group in Seattle hired Leah Silverthorn as a new attorney. She focuses on complex environmental matters in real estate and litigation of environmental disputes, representing businesses, owners, municipalities and individuals. She worked at Wooden & McLaughlin in Indianapolis and for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Casey Family Programs named the winners of the Casey Excellence for Children Awards. The Leadership Award goes to Dana M. Emery, CEO of Dodge & Cox in San Francisco who is on the national board of Summer Search, a mentoring program for low-income youth in the Bay Area, Seattle, New York, Boston and Philadelphia. The Alumni Award goes to Jerod Pierce, founder and managing partner at Olympic Holdings in Seattle. He was in foster care and was served by Casey Family Programs in Montana and Washington. Pierce attended Harvard Business School.

Mary DePaolo Haddad has joined Helsell Fetterman in the professional liability, employment and commercial litigation practice groups. She has 15 years of experience in professional liability, real estate, construction, copyright and trademark, product liability, school law, employment and premises liability. She also is a director of Ladder Down, a national program for women attorneys to hone leadership and business development skills.
Brian Carter and Jerry Judkins-Smith have joined the board of directors of Washington Wine Industry Foundation. Carter is owner and winemaker at Brian Carter Cellars. Judkins-Smith is the principal at Sphere Foods as well as co-owner and president of Inland Desert, Inc.
