CID Research

The Center for Infectious Disease Research has a new president and director: John Aitchison. He has worked at CID Research since 2011, most recently as chief science officer, and also leads the Aitchison Lab. He came to Seattle in 2000 as a faculty member at the Institute for Systems Biology. He holds affiliate or adjunct professorship positions at University of Washington, University of British Columbia, University of Alberta and the Institute for Systems Biology.

Russell Investments

Russell Investments has hired Toby Hoden as chief marketing officer. He has three decades of financial services marketing experience, most recently as CMO at Voya (formerly ING US), as well as at Chase, Citibank and OppenheimerFunds.

Nurse Mary's Clinic

A $35,000 gift from Amerigroup Washington has allowed the Downtown Emergency Service Center to renovate space and provide health care to adults experiencing homelessness, focusing on people with mental illness and substance use disorders. Daryl Edmonds of Amerigroup said this will reduce the number of visits to emergency rooms. Garneau‐Nicon Foundation and Foster Foundation also contributed to the project. The clinic will be named Nurse Mary's Clinic in honor of nurse Mary Pilgrim's years of service to the shelter.

Federal Way Asset Management

Federal Way Asset Management changed its name to Aptitude Investment Management. CEO Jeffrey Klein also said Aptitude has relocated its U.S. office from Federal Way to Seattle, at 925 Fourth Ave., Suite 3550.

Perkins Coie

Perkins Coie said Jacob S. Farber and Frederick B. Fedynyshyn have joined the firm as senior counsel in the Technology Transactions & Privacy practice. Farber is in Washington, D.C., and Fedynyshyn is in Seattle. He worked at BitPesa and the National Security Agency, where he focused on counterterrorism, cybersecurity and national security.
