Port of Everett

The Port of Everett Commission appointed retired Boeing supply chain manager Bruce Fingarson to fill the vacant District 1 seat. Fingarson will be sworn in on Nov. 7. The appointment lasts until the port election in 2019, when anyone can run for the position.

WSU School of the Environment

Kent Keller, professor and fellow of the Geological Society of America, has been named director of the School of the Environment at Washington State University. He has been a WSU researcher and teacher since 1988. The school has undergraduate programs in environmental science, wildlife ecology, forestry and earth science. Classes are taught at four WSU campuses.

Evergreen Security

Bay Alarm of Concord, California said it has acquired Evergreen Security of Everett, one of the largest security companies in the Puget Sound area, with more than 2,300 home and business customers. Evergreen has been family-owned and operated since 1978. Matt Westphal, co-president of Bay Alarm, said his family-owned firm has 16 branch locations and has been in business for 70 years, with over 140,000 residential and commercial customers.

American Seafoods Group

Seattle-based American Seafoods Group said Kevin McMenimen is now chief financial officer. His experience has ranged from Pillsbury and General Mills to small businesses such as Michael Foods and Flagstone Foods. He was CFO of Performance Optics, a global manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses.

Stenberg

Bellevue-based Symetra Life Insurance Co. named Jon Stenberg executive vice president of the Individual Life Division. Stenberg will be based in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was with RiverSource Life Insurance Co.

Cost Plus World Market

Cost Plus World Market has relocated two stores in Washington state. The Olympia store is now at Capital Mall at 2401 Fourth Ave. W. and the Bellevue store is now at Crossroads Bellevue at 15600 NE Eighth Street. The California-based retailer sells furniture, decor, jewelry and accessories from around the world.

JND Legal Administration

Jennifer Keough, CEO and co-founder of JND Legal Administration, is a finalist for Female Entrepreneur of the Year in the 14th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Finalists were chosen from more than 1,500 candidates. Winners will be announced Nov. 17.

Cairncross & Hempelmann added Binah B. Yeung to the litigation team. Yeung has experience with a range commercial disputes, including complex contracts, construction, fraudulent misrepresentation and real estate. She was with Schweet Linde & Coulson.

City of Seattle

Mayor Tim Burgess nominated Andrew Myerberg to direct the Office of Police Accountability. The OPA is an independent office responsible for investigating complaints of police misconduct and initiating its own investigations. Myerberg has been director of OPA on an interim basis since July. He was a team leader of the Police Action Team in the Seattle City Attorney's Office.

Maaco Auto Painting & Collision Repair

Maaco Auto Painting & Collision Repair has plans to expand into Seattle with two new shops by 2020. It has over 500 locations worldwide, and is seeking franchise partners here. The goal is to double the size of the company in three years.
