ABC Legal

ABC Legal Services appointed Brandon Fuller as chief technology officer. Fuller is the founder and CEO of Docketly, a subsidiary of ABC Legal, providing appearance counsel on a digital, custom-built platform. ABC Legal acquired Docketly in 2019 with Fuller remaining as the president of the company. Prior to founding Docketly, Fuller was a software engineer for two different Silicon Valley networking companies. The recent acquisition and Fuller's leadership as CTO will help to align services under one company. ABC Legal is based in Seattle, with more than 2,000 process servers throughout the U.S., as well as internationally in more than 75 countries.

Intercity Transit

Olympia's the Intercity Transit Authority (ITA) announced it is seeking individuals to serve on the ITA board or on the Community Advisory Committee. The ITA, a nine-member board of directors that sets policy and direction for the transit agency, is made up of elected officials who represent the Thurston County Board of Commissioners and the cities of Lacey, Tumwater, Olympia and Yelm, as well as a labor representative and three citizens. There is an opening for one citizen representative to serve a three-year term. The citizen representative must live within the public transportation benefit area. Intercity Transit is the only public transit authority in the state to allow citizen representatives full voting membership on its governing board. The CAC is a 20-member advisory group that provides input to the ITA on local public transportation issues. Nineteen members serve three-year terms. Members are selected to represent a cross-section of the community and geographical representation from throughout the public transportation benefit area.

Seattle Avionics

AFV Partners announced it has acquired Seattle Avionics, a provider of general aviation applications, FAA-certified and geo-referenced charts and flight data, and augmented reality technology. Based in Woodinville, Seattle Avionics was co-founded in 2002 by John Rutter and Steve Podradchik to offer an easy-to-use flight application for the general aviation market. Seattle Avionics creates pre-flight and in-flight user experiences with its cloud-based solutions providing direct user access to flight planning, weather, fuel prices and group document management. Rutter and Podradchik will join AFV Partner's aviation vertical in leadership positions. Tony Aquila is the founder, chairman and CEO of AFV Partners, which was formed in 2019 as a long-term permanent capital investor. The law firm of Kirkland & Ellis advised AFV Partners on the transaction. AFV Partners is headquartered in Argyle, Texas, with offices in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Zurich.

The Bellevue Chamber welcomed nine new board members. The new board members are: Karen Doherty, senior vice president, HDR; Stephen Uy, head of public policy and community Engagement, Facebook; Matt Samwick, operating manager, Innovation Realty Partners; Elaina Herber, president, Ascend Hospitality Group; Melissa deVita, deputy superintendent, Bellevue School District; Kari Magill, CEO, Rowley Properties; Ray Collum, CEO, EastHub; Jessica Hagen, director of Sales, King5 News; and Gary Locke, president, Bellevue College. Michael Nassirian, CEO of ARVR Academy was elected chair for the 2020-2021 Year. Recently, the chamber launched its “Student Connectivity Fund” along with Comcast and the Bellevue School District to help purchase high speed Internet access for Belleuve students in need.

City of Tacoma

The Tacoma City Council is looking to fill two positions on the Planning Commission, the District No. 1 position and the Development Community position. Applicants seeking the District No. 1 position must reside in that district. Those seeking the Development Community position must be a resident of Tacoma. The Planning Commission develops and updates the comprehensive plan and its elements, and formulates land use and development regulations and processes that implement the comprehensive plan. The commission reviews various planning issues, such as area-wide zoning reclassifications, moratoria, interim zoning, pre-annexation planning, historic district designation, urban design, and transportation and capital facilities programs.

Frazier Healthcare Partners

Frazier Healthcare Partners announced that Vivek Sharma and Girish Venkatachaliah are joining the firm's growth buyout team to develop investment strategies around healthcare data and AI applications. Vivek joins Frazier as partner, data & analytics investment strategies. Vivek will also serve in key board and advisor roles. Girish will work alongside Vivek as partner, data and artificial intelligence. Vivek brings over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles, as both an executive leader at global healthcare companies as well as an operating partner at private equity firm Thomas H Lee Partners. Most recently Vivek served as CEO of Decision Resources Group, a global AI-enabled SaaS platform serving premier pharmaceutical companies. Girish has over 20 years of experience in technology, data analytics and healthcare roles as both an executive leader and across multiple board and advisor positions. Most recently, Girish served as the EVP and chief technology officer at Decision Resources Group, Founded in 1991, Frazier Healthcare Partners is a provider of growth and venture capital to healthcare companies. Frazier has offices in Seattle and Menlo Park, California, and invests across he U.S., Canada and Europe.

CloudMoyo

CloudMoyo was selected as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in Washington state for the second year running, improving its rank from 13th in 2019 to fifth in 2020. The companies are ranked based on employee responses to a survey conducted by Seattle Business Magazine. The company is headquartered in Bellevue, with an innovation center in Pune, India, and sales offices in Jacksonville, Florida, and Overland Park, Kansas. CloudMoyo delivers AI-infused digital technology for railroad and transportation companies, as well as the manufacturing, architecture, engineering, construction and professional services industries. Additionally, CloudMoyo announced that Vinod Anantharaman joined the company as vice president of innovation. In his previous role, Anantharaman was director of strategy and business management in Microsoft's cloud AI team.

Qumulo

In Seattle, Qumulo, the file data platform for multi-cloud environments, named marketing veteran and former Tableau Software executive Elissa Fink to its board. Fink brings decades of marketing experience, and for 11 years was chief marketing officer at Tableau. Currently, Fink is a board member for a number of software companies and an adjunct professor at the University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business.

Revitalization Partners

Pat Scanlon joined Seattle-based Revitalization Partners as a director. Scanlon will lead the turnaround and corporate advisory firm's digital technology practice. Scanlon's experience includes 30 years with companies such as USA Today Sports, where he oversaw all online platforms and SaaS infrastructure. He served at J. Walter Thompson as the Madison Avenue agency's first director of interactive marketing in Australia and Asia. His media resume includes tenure as a board member overseeing the digital restructuring of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, as well as chief technology officer and senior executive for Australia's first dotcom. Before joining Revitalization Partners, Scanlon was an independent consultant in the manufacturing and software sectors. Revitalization Partners improves the operational and financial results of small and mid-market companies nationwide and abroad.

Alliant

The Seattle office of Alliant Insurance Services raised $100,000 for 21 charities. The early holiday charity drive responded to the need for a wide array of community services and resources in the wake of the pandemic. Previously an employee-exclusive endeavor, the program expanded its reach this year to include carriers, yielding its highest ever fundraising total. Alliant encouraged its clients to nominate charities and causes for the 2020 event. Alliant employees and carriers then worked together to raise funds. Those receiving funding spanned across Washington and Alaska, and included causes such as education, children's services, social justice and health care. This was the fourth year that the Alliant Seattle office collected and sent out holiday donations.
