Shockey Planning Group

Anderson

Everett-based Shockey Planning Group appointed Camie Anderson as vice president and principal. A 1999 graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in planning and environmental policy, Anderson joined the firm in 2000. She serves private and public sector clients in all aspects of land use and environmental planning. Shockey Planning Group was founded in 1980 by Reid Shockey, who continues his role and president and managing partner.

WineBid

WineBid, a Seattle-based online wine auction marketplace, added regional account managers in the Rockies, the Southeast, New England, the Mid Atlantic, the Midwest and Hong Kong. WineBid's new regional sales staff will help sellers maximize the value of their collections and get their wines to market more easily by enabling them to connect with wine consignment experts in their own cities. The new account managers join a team of wine auction professionals already in the Northeast, Southeast and Southwest. In addition to working with consignors across the country, WineBid will also continue to offer the Trade Support Program that in 2020 helped many restaurants, wineries and wholesalers offer collections and inventory in response to the need to trim or reposition wine lists and quickly access liquidity. Founded in 1996, WineBid has more than 140,000 registered bidders worldwide. The company has operations in Napa, California.

Washington Federal

Washington Federal, parent company of Washington Federal Bank, announced its board succession planning. Two directors, chair Thomas Kelley and Barbara Smith, will not be nominated for reelection to the board in January 2022, consistent with the company's director retirement policy. Also, the board announced that director Stephen Graham will be appointed chairman following the January 2022 annual meeting. In anticipation of the upcoming retirements, the board has increased the number of seats to 12 and appointed three new directors: Sylvia Hampel, Sean Singleton and Shawn Bice. Hampel brings 25 years of business management experience to the board. She was president of her own company Clearview Cleaning, operating throughout Idaho and three other western states, before selling the company to KBS. She is a licensed real estate broker and owns her own real estate development company. Singleton has experience with J.P. Morgan Chase, and was the founder of Oglethorpe Capital. Bice, a technology executive for more than two decades, is president of products and technology at cloud data company Splunk. In addition, Bice is a former Amazon Web Services vice president and Microsoft executive. Washington Federal Bank, a national bank with headquarters in Seattle, has 226 branches in eight western states.

Itron

Itron has signed a contract with United Utilities to deploy Temetra, Itron's next-generation cloud-based meter management solution. With Temetra, the utility will be equipped to read 1.6 million meters across its services in northwest England. With full mobile integration, Temetra will enable the utility to automate meter reading and meter reads will be securely stored on the cloud. Temetra features an intuitive web-based interface and mapping functionality, and will equip users to modify meter data and assignments anywhere with a web login. Itron, headquartered in Liberty Lake, enables utilities and cities to deliver infrastructure solutions to communities in more than 100 countries.

Convoy

Seattle-based digital freight network Convoy and Flexport, a platform for global logistics, announced a long-term, strategic partnership to bring end-to-end shipment automation across land, sea and air. The partnership draws on Flexport's international client base and Convoy's North American carrier network to provide customers with logistics services while expanding business capabilities for both companies through a new shared data exchange that integrates shipments across both platforms. Through this partnership, customers will be able to move their goods via international and domestic transportation, all through the Flexport platform. Flexport gains access to Convoy's network of carriers as well as deeper integration with Convoy's products and services, enabling Flexport to scale its truckload service offerings and provide visibility to clients once goods reach domestic ports. Convoy will integrate directly with Flexport's operational dashboard, Transmission, and its network of international clients to further grow its domestic marketplace. Flexport is headquartered in San Francisco.

KING TV

Moreno

Media company TEGNA has named Christy Moreno president and general manager at KING 5, the NBC affiliate in Seattle, effective August 2, 2021. Moreno will be responsible for overseeing the station's operations across all platforms as well as defining and ensuring the station's organizational goals are met. Moreno joins KING 5 from WHAS11, TEGNA's ABC affiliate in Louisville, Ky., where she served as president and general manager since 2018. TEGNA operates 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets.

Employee Voice Award

Quantum Workplace, a provider of employee engagement and performance software, as well as a data collector for nearly 50 Best Places to Work programs across North America, announced the winners of its annual Employee Voice Award. The award honors organizations that excel in the employee engagement arena by elevating employee, team and business success. The companies are selected for their efforts in making a difference in workplace culture while positioning themselves as employers of choice. The winner in the DE&I Pioneer category, which recognizes entities that have prioritized a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, and embedded their efforts throughout the entire workplace culture, was Seattle-based Brighton Jones. Brighton Jones is a wealth management firm, specializing in investment advisory, financial planning, tax and estate planning, and retirement plan services. The firm developed a comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion strategy that included defining the company's program message, building a business case, outlining employee involvement, and setting objectives and key results. The firm also launched a racial justice community impact circle, where clients provided donations to participate in a year-long forum.

Eight Bells Winery

Eight Bells Winery has named Pete Zachara winery manager. Zachara spent the last four years at Purple Cafe & Wine Bar, working his way up from server to lead sommelier at Purple Bellevue. He is currently studying how to make wine through the enology program at Washington State University. Zachara is a Court of Masters Sommeliers Certified Sommelier, and has a degree in marketing from Washington State University.
