Traction Systems Inc.

The 1995 Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Award, handed out yearly by the Navy as an acknowledgement of food service excellence, was won by Admiral Nimitz Hall, at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. Nimitz Hall, which won the Ney award in the "large ashore" category, contracts with Seattle-based Traction Systems to provide food service. Traction workers also helped win the award for the Mayport, Fla., Naval Station in 1993 and 1994.

Seafirst Bank

Robert Meredith, district director of the U.S. Small Business Administration for the Seattle District, has announced that Seafirst Bank was named Washington state's top small business lender for fiscal year 1995. According to the SBA, Seafirst has out performed Washington state banks and financial institutions for the second consecutive year, by generating 200 small business loans, totaling $24 million, for the fiscal year ending September 1995. The bank will be honored by the Seattle SBA district office with its coveted Gold Medal award.

Hallmark Mortgage

Hallmark Mortgage of Bellevue has added a Bellingham location to its net branch system. The new Bellingham branch is led by manager Linda Mercadante. Bernie and Brenda Bringhurst are in charge of sales management and loan processing. Joining them will be Jeff Albrecht, Lori Aswegan, Pete DeHaas and Ken Kelso, all veteran loan consultants with experience in both conforming and credit challenged loans.

Robert R. Randall Photography has launched a World Wide Web site at http://www.halcyon.com/r3images/. The site was designed entirely by Randall and includes images from its sports & fitness and fashion portfolios. Samples from stock photography and links to other web sites are included as well. The Seattle photographer also has added a digital imaging and retouching services. Recent projects include assignments for Glamour Magazine, Sierra On-Line, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Esterline Corp., and Seattle Magazine.

Northwest Strategies

Northwest Strategies, a Seattle-based communications, public relations and marketing firm, has promoted Scott Cave to vice president of public affairs. Cave joined the company in March 1991, after serving as a consultant to the firm since June 1990. In 1993, he became the firm's special projects manager. Prior to joining Northwest Strategies, Cave had his own firm, Cave & Associates, and worked as a cost consultant to local governments, including Pierce and Clark counties. From 1985 to 1987, he worked as a revenue analyst/economist for the Ohio Office of Budget and Management.

Puget Sound Auto Auction

Carl Koch has been named general manager of Auburn-based Puget Sound Auto Auction in Auburn. He will oversee daily operations for the facility, which is operated by national vehicle redistribution company ADT. Koch has more than 28 years of experience in the automotive industry, including two years as general manager of ADT Automotive's Tri-City Auto Auction in Pasco. Prior to joining Tri-City, he was general sales manager for Town & Country Chrysler Plymouth Dodge Jeep Eagle in Nampa, Idaho. He also spent seven years as a wholesale buyer for various dealerships in the Midwest.

Convention Hosts

Pat Villa has been named director of convention services for Convention Hosts, a destination management company based in Seattle. Villa is a 13-year veteran of tourism and meeting planning, most recently serving as manager of sales for Convention Hosts from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, she spent 10 years in association management, directly responsible for major trade shows, statewide dealer conventions, sales and implementation of exhibitor booths, contract preparation and on-site management and support for exhibitors. Villa returns to Convention Hosts following a year's position at Tillicum Village, where she was sales manager for corporate events, company retreats, and convention groups of 100 or more.

McKnight & Company

McKnight & Company Inc., a public relations and marketing communications firm founded in Seattle 12 years ago, has announces plans to move to Bellevue. Effective Dec. 7, the company will be located at 11555 S.E. Eighth St., Suite 201, Bellevue, WA 98004. According to chief executive officer Jeanne McKnight, the new Bellevue office is a more central locations for clients in the Puget Sound region.
